Hi All,My air cond works fine for city driving however on highway after like 30 minutes on the road on 120km/h drive it starts to diminish and gone. However you still can hear the blower work but none coming out from the front panel. Please help. TQ

Mine is having the same problem, on my e46!! Need to defroze the aircon for a while before turning it on, and the aircon will be back normal. However, this will repeat itself all over again. Anyone around to give some advice?

If your blower is not blowing out air then it's the resistor. Very common prob on e46 and it's an easy replacement by your air cond guy or mechanic.

New development; talked to a so-called air cond specialist and he said its the air cond who got frosted inside and to wait for five minutes by turning off the cool button and after that it'll be back to normal.

So I just keep recycling that and it works. I guess I just have to go to a mechanic and get the computer to be re-look at.

azuree..... your air-con specialist sucks!

the condensor icing up is why you are not getting cold air from your vents.

switching off the cool button is just a remedy and not a fix.

also, the computer has nothing to do with the air con.

send to naidu in Jln Gasing P.J.

Frosting in the AHU is caused by insufficent air flow thru the Air Handling Unit (AHU). This is caused by chokage in the "microfilter". When was the last time you change the microfilter. Hope that the dirt or dust did not get into the AHU which will prevent the condensation from sliding down the fins of the cooling unit. If that happen, you will need to clean it up.. (big job)..

and yes agree with daniel, your air con specialist suckz..

My previous car also had this problem. I went to couple of shops and pay for nuthin. First they top up a gas. The next day "koyak" again. Go to 2nd shop, they suspected during recent service put extra coolant and overflow. Suck out the coolant yet not solve the issue. Then go to 3rd shop, suspected pipe leaking and put air-cond sealer. It last for a week and happen again. Finally the 4th shop change the Thermo-cond and solve the problem until now.

Got it fixed! Went to Mechanikar and the changed the thermo sensor and it works perfectly fine now.

Thanks

The resistor cost abt RM300++ plus labor

My E46 325i aircon was not working last Fri, did a search on the forum, found out the BMW aircon guy, Naidu number and location and the estimated cost, went there on Sat, change the resistor at RM285 + labour charges, problem fixed.

Thanks to the members for posting such useful information...

Just joined the club today... as one member told me this, if you can afford to buy a BMW, I am sure you can afford to pay RM150 per year for the membership fees.
