Hi BMW members,Today I went back from work and discovered my air cond is little bit warm, even after 10 minutes driving the temperature is still warm. Is there any air cond service workshop that is reliable, reputable and can be trusted to look at my Z3 air cond prob? I send to one shop in USJ but their reason seems ridiculous to me, need to park my car there for 3 days, they want to open up my dashboard, check my wiring, compressor, something-something coil etc..and they told me the cost is 2500++...I seriously think the problem is out of air cond gas, maybe some leakage as well..help needed..

The master for all BMW aircon is none other than "under the pokok" Naidu. His mobile is (019) 211-0554 and his workshop is just behind EPF shell station, Jalan Gasing, PJ.

I've sent my Z3 to DU Car Service, they did a good job. Its in Damansara Utama, same row as Maybank. Look for Ah Hong 03-77250107

Thank you guys.. I will check out one of the shop today...by the way, any other suggestions? maybe shops in Puchong area?

Try to ask the shop to regas it first.

If it still loose freon- Then check the engine area first before taking the dah apart- Compressor hose, Condenser,AC drier, Compressor seal, Expansion valve & each O rings of every joints. Make sure the shop have the electronic sniffer to detect leakage.

Last option is taking the dash out to check cooling coil etc.

I just sent mine at merc centre in shah alam and it costs me rm1800 to take the dash out and change the cooling coil..

Hi Z members,

I regas my aircond early this month. The aircond blow cool air for 3 weeks and then it started to become warm again. Finally, it become hot! hehehe..

Then I send my car to Autoimage~following advice from one of BMW club member and found out that my compressor is the problem. Need to leave my car 1 day for the replacement. Will do it once I have time.

Thank you guys/girls for giving your opinion and shared your preferred workshop!

Have a nice day!

Hi Palister

I recently had the very same problem. Refilled my gas, cooling lasted for about 3 weeks down to about a week the second time. Brought my Z in for checking at a local aircon shop. He whipped out a gas detector. Poked around the radiator area and all around the gas piping joints- NO leaks. Went inside my car, jammed the probe into the vents- Alarm sounded. Apparently the cooling coil in our Z's dont last very long (max 5 years). Its a common problem with leaking cooling coils. Had it replaced with a genuine OEM coil for RM3800. That includes my broken a/c condenser (leaking oil), cooling coil, gas refill and workmanship. Plus, he fixed my air blower control too. (blower only works at highest setting) :))

Next to replace would be the a/c compressor. :)))

I'm also due for a lambda sensor change too. (2 nos, just after the exhaust manifold)

Hope this helps.
Cheers bro.
Happy Z'ing. :)))

bro,

may i know which shop you went for this A/C repair?

this is because you said he fixed your air blower control too. (blower only works at highest setting). I have similar problem with my Honda CRV air blower control (sorry, not a bimmer). at certain position the fan speed is not consistant, felt like there's contact point problem. the cervice centre changed it when the car was 4 years old and now it's faulty again after another 4 years. some people said the controller can be fixed without changing the whole unit, just need to find the A/C shop that wanna do it.

thanks
