Hi guys, its been a while. Hope you all are fine. Lee, i went to service my air-cond at your chap's place in J Gasing. Frankly, i was bored and had nothing to do so i dropped by his place. My air-cond belt occasionally squeked at high revs so i also mentioned it to him. I told him to let me know if any parts needed to be changed. When i went there 2 hours later, i was astonished to be presented a bill of $550. He had changed an air con switch and replaced the tensioner ($159) with a modified one (will last a lifetime, he said). I was extremely unhappy cos there had been nothing wrong with the air-cond, save the vents getting frozen up after 2 hours of continuous use (easily solved by recirculating the air). I subsequently had 2 other chaps look at my car. Both opined that the modified tensioner will damage my belt. Plus, the switch, which cost $200, was unnecessary. Barely 2 weeks later, the air-con screeches horribly and the "lasts a lifetime" tensioner is already coming apart. I'm now going to buy a new original tensioner plus a new housing bracket for it! Air-cond King?? Conman, more likely.Mohan

This is quite unexpected, and the first I've heard of such a bad experience from the shop.

There are two shops there behind shell. Any possibility you went to another one? Did you speak w Naidu? Just covering all possibilities.

If indeed that was the case, I am not happy that a fellow forummer got such bad service. If you are open to the idea, let's meet up and go there together. I would claim for some kind of restitution. A prudent business owner would not risk an unhappy customer jeapordising his reputation.

Since there is a lifetime warranty, you are fully entitled to claim. PM me and lets fix a time to go there. I want to get to the bottom of this.

hey guys, so was it naidu ? I was planning to go tomorrow and seek his services for the first time .. now i have doubts.

i hv used his services for some time now and quite happy

mechanics are human too and bound to make mistakes here and there

if u are not happy with their services then tell them that

so far i am a happy customer

I am also a happy customer, as are many of my friends.

I have heard of many people happy w Naidu. I have also heard of some people who are not happy w their experience there.

So, use your own judgement.

I feel bad about Manamohan's unfortunate experience there, and a bit surprised, so am willing to take him back there any time to clarify matters and claim back under the warranty offered.

Not to downplay MM's situation, but here's an observation. If you get your car done at a workshop, and then go to another workshop to comment on the work done, it is highly unlikely the second workshop will pass positive comments. I have experienced this myself - workshops trying to convince me that whatever the other workshop did was wrong, so i'd better switch to them.

And, it always helps to know before hand what you want to get done before you go, so that you have an idea of what the market it quoting, etc.

hey bro i totally agree with you. well my first experience with naidu was excelent couse he resolved my problem in half a day with a bill of RM 115.00

whereby my mech have been trying to solve this problem for 4 months now and pratically changed almost all my aircon system.

i am now certainly 1 happy owner now and no complains abt naidu :D

The air-cond. in my E30 was done at Naidu by its previous owner.

No complains whatsoever! Well.. maybe just one. Too cold!

am using the modified aircond belt tensioner. No probs since. No need to change and no squeals.

Satisfied. Even gave a ride to/from the nearest LRT station or Amcorp Mall. For an almost bawah pokok shop, his services are much better than the many Aircond shops charging stupid prices just because the car is a BMW.

Damn....i have to come to kl to see this naidu guy lar.... no naidu's in penang unfortunately.... only cut-throats!

have been going to naidu for donkey years ...no complaints what so ever .

Very honest indeed ...

cheers .

MM no offense but maybe u should take ur complaints back directly to him .

cheers :D

A good friend just got quoted for abt RM7k for aircond maintenance.

Sent him to Naidu instead. Watch this space for further updates...

spoke w naidu, he seems to remember MM well. he has a slightly different account of what happened...

not taking sides, just pointing out that items under warranty can be claimed if it doesn't work.

anyways, offer is still open to go sort it out...

Penang? Only cut-throats? I thought Penang people were all kind and generous, esp on matters involving money? Surely you are mistaken?!?!

Im sure naidu is not perfect coz he's human :)

So far he has attended to ac probs in both my udm and swedish tank and I have been very satisfied.... I agree with the members here.... go back to the workshop and complain if you are not satisfied

i've been sending mine to him

pluses...honest, knowleadgeable, reasonable price

minuses....my engine always dirty once done, not convenient to wait
