Additive in washer fluid

A lot of fluids sold in hardware shops and even supermarkets are toxic. They can be sold in the East, West, North or South of the planet, so long as there are hazard warnings on the container. Practically all the fluids used in a motorcar are toxic. See http://www.stage-infinity.com/2007/09/28/automotive-fluid-safety-cheat-sheet/

Ethylene Glycol is lethal if ingested. There are NGO movements in the West trying to ban it's use in windscreen washer fluids, which ultimately get pumped out into the environment and end up in streams, rivers and oceans. There are alternative anti-freeze agents that would work as well as EG. The point is, we don't need WWF with anti-freeze in this country.

Gee, salt would be a cheap way of preventing our washers from freezing up on a cold morning, astro! Wonderful for the car's complexion too... :D
