Yesterday morning when I start my car, AC blower was ON maximum, blowing hot air, AC controller screen blackout so I can't off or do blower speed and temp adjustment at all. When I off engine, and take out my key, the blower is still blowing for quite sometime then only off.Anyone faced the same problem before? Can recommend workshop to repair AC? I read somewhere that Naidu is good, can I have his contact and address? Thanks in advance

Naidu's mobile is (019) 211 0554 and his workshop is located behind Shell station (next to EPF building) Jalan Gasing, PJ.

fsu aka hedgehog

classic symptom of a failed FSU - final stage unit aka hedgehog.located at rh footwell, beside the a/c evaporator.

quote from mat salleh forum:
It isnt to difficult to replace the resistor. I did it on my (now totalled

) 530i not long ago. On the 530, it is under the glovebox by your left foot. Remove the small carpeted panel with one screw and slide forward. The resistor is located there held in place with two screws. I actually replaced mine with one off ebay

my aircon blowing warm air on hot days and cooler at night. normal again after topping up gas. checked for leak in the engine bay but can't find any. so suspect a leak somewhere under the dash board. looks like need to go to naidu for a check up next week.

just dropped my car at naidu's. confirm coil leak. looking at a damage of 1.5-1.6k to change the coil, valve and dryer and his time :(

The coil you mention is under the dashboard?

yeap. that's the one and costing 700+. since the dashboard is off, might as well change the expansion valve at the same time.

For my ride, I suspect some minor leakage under the dashboard too. But as a top-up could last more than 6 months, I'll live with it at this moment. It started happening since about 2 years ago.

i can smell the gas in the cabin. the whole family also complain of the smell. so decided get it fixed.

with the dashboard off, detected a small tiny leak at the heater! will be bypassing it until I get a new heater to change out ;)

bypassing the heater to confirm if the drop in coolant level, that has been bugging me for so long, is due to the heater

the cost of the operation - 1.5k for the coil, dryer, expansion valve and labour.

bro...don't concern yourself to replace the heater.this is something we don't need.do a permanent bypass like i did.naidu might not agree with this as he will say he won't know how the system will behave if the heater is bypassed.i have been running like this for the past 6 mths and all working just fine.

i bypassing the heater temporarily to confirm if the drop in level is from the heater. naidu things there is a small small leak on the heater but can't be sure. he's the one who encouraged me to bypass it. anyhow, i'm scared of too cold, so will reinstate it back after this testing period.
