Stuck in P and can't remove key

Hi sifus, just send my car for diagnosis at millenium weld sc for checking acs/abs signal problem. They reset by removing battery etc. Now drove back and parked. Then realise i cant take out my car key from ignition. Can off and on car engine but cant engage gear or remove key. Anyone experience similar problem or can help? Really desperate. Sitting at a road side shop waiting for toll truck . Thanks in advance

Hi DR78

I did it for AmoiSky e46 330 last year during the kulim penang drive. its a small switch at the side you need it to be triggered. Push the gears out of p then look around there. there should be one thing that needs to be clicked in.

Thx slyder. Got my car tolled to bmw. Bmw staff gave dented my car while pushing it into their garage. I really give up on my luck today. Really trying to restore my car to mint condition but these people are spoiling it for me.. Dunno what new damage i will encounter upon collecting my car. Malaysia bmw mechanics sucks. Anyway my gear cant come out of P. I believe must be due to some blown fuse after tge battery resetted my car.

Hi guys. Just to update. Hope it may be helpful for those facing similar problem with me in future. Apparently there was some loose connection between some cables from my steering to the gear shifter. I believe it could be due to me adjusting the steering height. Saw many people had similar problems over the net and mostly occur after they adjusted the steering. Mechanic told me the cable is not long enough and is on constant tension. Problems solved.

Btw a tips if ur key is stuck like me, i accidentally manage to remove it by repeatedly pulling the steering up and down and forward backward.. All of sudden key can turn to 0 position. Hope its helpful. If not u cant lock ur door and leave ur car.

Oh ya in regards to my dent, wow.. Got a paintless dent removal specialist at Carnauba Car Spa in Glenmarie to fix it for me. It was a perfect repair. They charge Rm 150 / panel irregardless of the number of dents/dings. That freelance guy they hired was fantastic. For door dings, he dont even need to remove ur door panels and best of all he only took 20 mins to repair my car on d spot. Amazing.

Spoken to this guy called Devan/daven 0123642577 Carnauba car spa. Nice chap. Mine they told me the dent was at the body line so may not be 100% perfect, maybe 80-90%. I took the risk and it wads 100% perfect Hope this is helpful

I have this problem every time adjust the steering or take out the speedometer...don't be panic...just open the gear stick bottom plate and you will see the gear lever..gently pull up, step on your brake pedal ,start your car then off it, then all of sudden you can see the lever going down...
