ABS FAIL..

I know this problem previously been discuss to detail in the thread postedby Mr. ZeNeGeR. My ABS light also flash up this afternoon, still not sure it's due to the ABS pump or ABS control unit. Will going for checking by t'row :cry: Okay.. can somebodys or sifus tell me did my ASC function on my car will be disable due to this ABS failure?? Thanks.

bro, sorry to hear dat. even three28 experienced the same last nite n has yet to rectify due to most werkshops bein closed tday.

lets just hope yer case is due to mere wires at the wheels got snagged n nuffin more ... abs control unit r darn costly dude .. bout 5-6k rite .. unless get those used one, but yknow laa these used units .....

Was there a light "thud" when it first lighted on? If yes, then one of the pulse sensor spoiled. Needs diagnostic tool to confirm the fault.

ersalle..yes! the ABS light was light up when i swicth on the engine. Definately need diagnostic tool here.will visit my mech. this friday.Was confirmed my ASC function will automatically disable due to this problem..

The last time my ABS light up, it was diagnosed as a blown warning light bulb. So I put the bulb to sleep. Just remove the bulb.

You can actually test if you ABS is working. Find a gravel road, go about 20km/h and then jam on the brakes. See if the brake locks up.....cheapest and easiest way to test.

it's history now (a year ago) but it cost me about ringgit 10,000 for a new abs pump because of the warning light (it would not go off) ...should have done the gravel road test as suggested by daredevil but at that time was too concerned about the safety of wifey (not me) using the 325i (her car)....even then that workshop gave only one month gurarantee but lucky me that new pump working well till today...regards onfax

Thanks bro kahar..yes! he did call me last nite.

Funny things happened on my car..2 days i running the car with ABS light up and ACS disable light up, suddenly yesterday during slow driving both light going off. Stop the car at the road side, swicth off da engine and start again surprise surprise all back to normal. Hope everythings going to be okay..cheers.

try to check ur lower arm bush. i had the same prob few weeks ago. The ABS and traction light tend to appear and goes off after a while. check this out cause after changing my lower arm bush, it didn't appear for past few weeks already. not necessary ur abs control unit. Hope it helps. CHEERS

Sigh, my so called new unit really living up to it's reputation as Banyak Makan Woksyop and Banyak Makan Wang. My ABS and ASC lights are also litted, but surprisingly (sometimes), it goes off after 1-2 minutes of driving. But sometimes when I crank the engine, it's fine. :dunno:

I will start test my ABS with hard brake , cheap and efficient like what DD suggest.

Both my nissan and bmw have same sympthom before battery gone flat . ABS light lit up !

Forget this if your battery new.

The ABS on my 10 year old wira1.8 is still working fine. the only 'scare' i got was 4 years back when the ABS light came on, and ABS activated even with light brake pressure. Thankfully, after just cleaning the wheel sensors, everything was 100% again. My wira has 330,000km on the odo and its used regularly for track days and autocross.

Heres hoping my future e36 dont give me any ABS scares.

If the ABS light on and stay when u start ur engine ....normaly ur ABS master pump problem...........u can choose to repair it or rebuilt it if u lucky enuf that the valves are working..........the rebuilt cost RM200-RM300......If the valve is Kong...just find used unit cost RM400-RM500.........

If ur ABS light come up once a while when u driving ...maybe the sensor is bout time to clean n change.........

Just done mine at BM workspecialist at Taman Industrial Bolton..........U can look for Vasu ....he very good n experience in rebuilt the ABS pump with very reasonable price .......... :yes:

fyi....new ABS pump cost RM6k........ :getyourfactsright:

i have d same prob wit d abs thingy. sometimes d signal turns on, there r times it turns off. i noticed there is a soft KLUK-KLUK sound whenever i go over humps & driving on rough surfaces (only 2 kluk sound), u think i oso kena like u?
