halo palck78... thanks for your offer but for now the shop says they'll fix it for me FOC so I'm hoping that's true versus digging for RM10k to fix it on my own

Anyways, will definitely give u a call if I end up needing ur help/advice ;) thanks again .

Am also having the same problem.

10k is way too expensive!!

I think I should send to AB and see if they can do a goodwill for me....

I think occasional activation of the ABS and DSC is a healthy exercise for the DSC control unit.. Just checking, do u guys do that?

AB, i thought the ABS is alwiz on? I never turn DTC off :p

Anyways, for my case the car shop ordered a recond pump part for replacement, it worked ok for 3 days then light came out again... Now they have no choice, they say they will order from AB the ABS module. RM12k .. lucky me keke.

I agree but would testing out the ABS and DSC say by stomping on the brakes etc not stress out the suspension, brake, hydraulics as well? Isn't there a less violent way of doing the test?

Also how can you tell if the ABS worked when you're the driver?

hi fellow forumer,

have any one tried the above? or is it one of those band-aid solution where the problem will re-surface? i too am facing this intermitten issue.. especially after some hard braking, my ABS will definitely pop-up.. and after some time & for some unknown reason, the warning lights will disappear..

thx

mine was the same case.. intermittently light up and then go away but will surely light up again later. I didnt try the above... but did try changing a re-cond brake pump but issue was still there... ended up replacing the whole ABS module with a new one... RM9k++ but was under warranty by iktikadraya :)

lucky guy..

Now is my turn. The light up for the first time yesterday while waiting for a friend. Almost fainted!

Tried start/stop but the light remained. After lunch, after 2 mins drive the light gone. Was so happy. However, it didn't last long. Today, it happened again. Tried hard braking while the light up, confirmed the ABS is not working. Also did the hard braking during the light off, the ABS is working fine. Previous experience with my E30, it will intermittently on and off for a few months. Then it permanently stays on.

Called Ingress just now, they asked me to bring the car for checking. Will do that soon. Hopefully it's just a sensor....

Our babies like it rough..

If you can botak your tyres in 17k km.. I don't think u are gentle driver too.. :p

Exercising the ABS best done in the wet and I usually do it when approaching speed bump and behind no car la. As on DSC, take fast u-turn to trigger it lor. Lately I tried with DTC where the slip degree is increased, car can oversteer up to 45 degree before intercepted electronically.. many people will be looking your way if u look into your rear view mirror after pulling the stunt.. :p

Oh! do you all replace your brake fluid? Do u all know that BMW brake fluid has a short recommended replacement interval?! Why so when the rest of the lube is longlife? That's because our ABS pump very sensitive and will fail if brake fluid dirty. What's your mileage now and when was the last time you replace it. Mine is 40k km now and brake fluid has been replaced before under BSRI, can't remember the interval though..
