Hi there sifus...Newbie here, just got my 325i E92 M-sports today and was driving smoothly home (80km/h) then hit on a moderate brake and the ABS & one triangle light & exclamation mark lights lit up. I called the shop i bought from and they asked to try pressing on the DTC button to see if the light goes away, i tried but it doesn't. Actually, come to think of it... the light was also on when i test drove the car a week ago prior to buying but they said it was just software related and they could fix it. Guess it was only a bandaid solution they came up with?Does this mean there's now no ABS and no traction control on my car? I will send the car back to check tomorrow but wanted to know if you guys have any idea what's happening?Appreciate your kind advise... thanks sifus,whiteknight88

Welcome to the club, and welcome to the endless "Fault" car club.
I had mine triggered once but not sure what it was related, am waiting for it to go off and stay lit up permanently b4 i send my car in. Otherwise, the service center wont be able to tell from the Diagnostic Machine if the fault went off itself.

I heard if its ABS module/ DTC module failure, its 10K to repair it. Ohh, god bless me pls!

hmm... u certainly don't sound to enthusiastic about ur bimmer :p

It could be just the wheel speed sensor (one at each wheels), but if it is the pump and control unit....hmmmm....

Yes, i was over-enthusiastic with my ride and now.... its a LOVE-HATE relationship i'd say. Spent a lot of F**king $$$ to do up the ride you know...who said i am not an enthusiast...

think i saw the error msg saying something about a pump..... :p

is that gonna cost a bomb? Anyways, I voiced my case to the shop... the boss was kind enough to guarantee replacement if problem persists :) nice guy

Yes it could well be just a few sensors...provided you can get some trustworthy Bimmer shop to diagnose it correctly...or else if you send in to AB, you'll end up losing an arm and a leg!:listen:

Yes, good guy. Good luck to you, seems that you have not heard of some horror stories even when you buy bimmers from BMW Authorised Dealers who is specialised in fixing bimmers than the shop you got the car from, and this car dealer is not specialised in bimmer, right? i guess.

You can test the ABS by doing emergency hard braking. On a wet situation and clear of traffic.
If that fails, strong reason for the pump to be faulty.

If the ABS is performs, it could be the speed sensor...

good luck

err... it's a parallel import shop lor... they bring in all sorts of brands & have service centers for it.. ferraris pun ada. Guess they r not specialised in one specific brand.

ya i saw a few complaints on AB already

thanks.. will test out again later... after resetting software just now, went for lunch but no excessively hard braking .. so far so good. fingers crossed :)

yup...it's the ABS/DCS unit faulty all rite.. i had the same problem abt a year ago. although it's past the warranty period, AB gave me goodwill in replacing this unit without incurring RM10k...
if it's parallel import...i'm afraid u have to part with your rm10k.

oh..i havent mention. the first time AB did was just to reset the s/w and clean the contacts of the unit...so it's gone. but the problem re-appear after 1 month after i did a hard-breaking arnd corner.

hi... just to let u guys know, the shop says they've ordered the ABS pump for me, they claim part will arrive after raya so... will have to drive without abs/dtc for now and will see if they keep to their word next week.

thanks

When comes to Bimmer..hmm the hardship to DIAGNOSE is a nightmare, compare to get it repaired. End up changing unnecessary parts.I had many sleepless night with mine although the problem is not big as yours.

Just drive carefully in the mean time. Not just the ABS, few other stuff on traction does not work. Take it easy, bro.

Btw, Ingress took over a month to get the parts delivered direct from Germany .
