ESS offers their twinscrew setup for the m54 525i and the m54 530i.they use a Lysholm twinscrew supercharger combined with a custom manifold which features an internal Laminova water intercooler.very very trick indeedy..
300bhp/360Nm for the 525i.
320bhp/380Nm for the 530i.

be forewarned tho.. the prices may scare u shitless.

really neccesary for the supercharger for 525 msports ar? wow u guy really drive fast huh? I went to genting yesterday with my 523. Man it was amazing. so much fun. after i arrived and i felt abit dizzy. hehehe but it was fun. With 5 adults and no problem at all. I think 525 shd be even more powerful ... u guys even ask for 530? m5? man ...

for me la. 523 good enough but if got no budget then sure 525 msport look much much better. :( shd have gone to 525 hehehehe abit regret that i didnt think twice and ordered it right away after test drive.

There are some who have tested both the 523i and 525i and found rather surprisingly they preferred the 523i in terms of power delivery. They found the 523i to be more free-revving and urgent while the 525i felt a bit more laid-back. This is especially so with the facelifted 190 bhp 523i with the uprated steptronic transmission.

oh really? I recently saw alot new facelift 525 on the street. it looks nicer :( hehehee anyway i tried the 525 later on. my first lady said too uncomfortable. maybe 525 suspension harder then 523. and she didnt like the seat also. hehehehehe so end up bought the 523. but really like the 525 with spoiler and body kits. look so much nicer :)

On the looks side, I totally agree with you that the 525i MSports looks so much better with the extra kit and I would certainly go for that. On the performance side, I found that review surprising as well cos my own impression of the 218 bhp E90 325i and my own 190 bhp E92 323i is that the 325i performs noticably better on a straight line. In Singapore, where both options are available, the price gap of RM40,000 has led to many opting to go for the 323i and I think that's sensible. Oddly, the price gap of a 523i and 525i here is only RM30,000 and for an E60, I would go for more power.

just came back from BMW. My RFT pressure lost. kenal nail :( I am surprise that AB charge rm20 (read from 3 series thread) Sapura charge me rm10 :)

now they are doing promotion for all the extra kits, spoiler for 3 series cost RM20,888. My SA told later shd have for 5 series. Man i told him extra rm20k by tat time i would go for 525 instead. 523 plus rm20k ... for looking good without extra horse power? wat for :( just my 2 cents. so many cust today. Today only able to fix the tyre. have to make appoinment and go back again to reset my ride. dun know why ... SA told me tat after tyre fix everytime have to use the computer to reset wor. is tat true?? didnt know abt tat. wondering free of charge or not :( forgot to ask.

M54 is the new facelifted engine? how much will the supercharger cost? js got my 525 this month

M54 is the pre-facelift 525i engine with 192 bhp. The new engine is N series with 218 bhp. There is an even newer engine for 525i in some countries but that's a de-tuned 3.0L DI with 231 bhp.

thanks juan, so the facelifted engine in malaysia is N series is there any designation after the N? since its stil new is it correct that there is no supercharger, stroker or camshaft available yet for this engine?

Oh yes, it's N52 for the facelifted 5ers. For the 523i and 525i, it's N52B25 (bear in mind both models have exactly the same engine, just that the 523i has been detuned) whilst the 530i has the N52B30. You might be wondering what about N54? That's the designation for the 3.0L twin turbo featured in the 335i. I think there are only 2 forumers with that engine, meinauto and velocity vis-a-vis their E92 335i s.

If you like performance, can do the ecu remap from 192hp to 208hp, 245Nm to 260Nm. :top: Besides that, Voltage stabilizer and high performance ignition coil.

Hey Calvin, sorry to go off-topic but there's a HIOP ECU re-mapping thread which I had posted an issue re MVS-80 ECU. Apparently, HIOP cannot get through the code of this latest ECU for '07 CBU cars. Would appreciate any inputs you can give. Thanks!

At the moment most Germn tuner are unable to tune the newer version ECU.
Below is what Hiop remap improvement chart for model able to remap at the moment

E60 520d 163 PS >> 198 PS, 340 Nm >> 410 Nm
E60 523i 177 PS >> 190 PS, 230 Nm >> 250 Nm
E60 525d 177 PS >> 211 PS, 400 Nm >> 475 Nm
E60 525i 192 PS >> 208 PS, 245 Nm >> 260 Nm
E60 530d 231 PS >> 272 PS, 500 Nm >> 600 Nm
E60 530d 218 PS >> 260 PS, 500 Nm >> 580 Nm
E60 530i 231 PS >> 245 PS, 300 Nm >> 320 Nm
E60 530i 258 PS >> 272 PS, 300 Nm >> 320 Nm
E60 535d 272 PS >> 328 PS, 560 Nm >> 650 Nm
E60 540i 306 PS >> 333 PS, 390 Nm >> 420 Nm

E60 M5 507 PS >> 537 PS, 520 Nm >> 535 Nm

Thanks Calvin, it's not the news I wanted to hear but what to do... what about improvement for the N52B25 323i with 190 bhp? Any chance you can keep us updated when HIOP manages to crack the MVS-80 ECU?

thanks juan for the info.

calvin, since the N52s cant be tuned yet, how much improvement am i looking at for the voltage stabilisers and performance ignition coils? will it void warranty?

Hey bros, sorry for the late reply. As for the voltage stabilisers and performance ignition coils will improve somewhere around 10hp. For more information you can find out at www.EurocarMotorsport.com or http://www.okadaprojects.com/usa/home.htm and http://www.sunautomobile.com/

Warranty wise, not so much to worry about since this is plug and play kind of stuffs. You can always replace it back to stock before going for any warranty claim.

Hi Juan, the E90 323i has the same engine as E60 523i, the spec and improvement is the same as E60 523i

Hey Calvin, my 323i engine is a newer 190 PS version. Yes, it's the same as the facelifted E60 but your earlier list only provided enhancement for the older 177 PS engine which is on the pre-facelift 523i.

the "motoman" theory huh.. :)

let me know how that works for you.

ive only tried it out on my nitro remote control cars. hehe

i've tried de motoman theory n now i find my engine vibrates at times upon startup. is it due to de motoman theory or other forummers here experience this vibrating as well? appreciate comments cheers..

Power is relative and depending on usage purpose also. I also took my 530 up Genting. But with my family inside, it was a slow casual drive up. Doing that, yes, power always felt enough and car seemed to have much more to offer than what I was asking it to do.

However, I have also gone up by myself solo. And when trying to zoom up the hill, power seems wanting at some stretches, especially those sharp angle curves. Supercharger you say?............................
