Hi All,I just join today and I'm new here. Just had the 523i 1 month ago. Yesterday I suddenly feel the the RPM has drop (500 now but not sure what is it previously) and the car vibrates at traffic lights.when you more and try to accelerate more, you feel like it is choking. start in the morning and it looks ok but after awhile the vibration happens again.Today is the second day and have not taken it to any workshop.Anyone can help me here? Thanks

I had a problem very similar to yours previously. If you're on N53 then it might be the top engine cover (there's a valve there which might be stuck). Let me know if you need a workshop to help you fix it.

Would be great if you can recommend a workshop with reasonable pricing. I am in KL. What is the expected cost?

It could also be one of your coil

If it is the coil, then costs just rm180 only, each ya..last time i hv to repair coil n pressure pump sensor, it costs me rm600..paid by my insurance OPAL..did at autoimage auto garage, no. 10 jalan ss26/11, taman mayang jaya, PJ...03-78800067, 0122189330 Kwai..hope this helps..

Thanks all. Got it check. It is the ignition coil. Cost RM 150.00. Car is now smooth again. By the way, just to check, do you get the Engine Icon when you switch on your car for a 523i? I saw it in the manual but mine does not light up.

Thanks.

Yeap, the icon did light up when it happen to me. One of the coil was change.

Great news..one very satisfied forumer..where did u do the repair? kindly share'..

No worries. Spark plug miss fired, change the ignition coil will do. Suggest to change all in one row, 6 of them. Coz when one fails the others are going too. In the analysis log, the pressure will be in positive range. Normal range is negative.

Sorry daniel,
I beg to differ.Only change the faulty ones will do.

Change as required and you will have some cash to spare as well.

Why waste the 5 good ones if only 1 is faulty?

Yes, the mechanic said the same thing. He said that all the other is ok no need to change the rest.

Thanks anyway.
