Anyone tried 3M tinting for their cars? I believe VKool costs RM1.8k++ but apparently 3M is going for RM1.3k. Any feedbac is much appreciated. Thks

Used to be one of my options before but end up with Ecotint Raybarrier due to 3M is smartag unfriendly. If you are OK with it, I think it is a good choice.

Few months back, 3M dealer in bdr manjalara quoted me RM1.8k for 3m crystalline 70 if i'm not mistaken. The highest end of 3M.

RM1.3K is a good price for 3M. I thought it would cost more (RM1.8K). I paid RM1.2 for mine, because my friend is a 3M staff (then) ... so got staff pricelah.

Aiyaaaaa
just read the older stuff la....
there's nothing like Q U A L I T Y !
If you have the budget just vsplurge it on the capital V
no regrets in the end
I have xperienced it
dont accept any substandard stuff
I made a big mizztake by going the rike way!!
be warned.... the right way
if you can take the hint

I have avoided getting cheaper quality tint in the past. I had been considering VKool until I heard of the 3M recent pricing. Last year I was quoted RM1.7k for 3M, so RM1.3k is quite a bargain. I am willing to go for it if it is at least 80%++ of VKool's quality.

Hence my query. So anyone tried 3M tint before?

My fren (now ex 3M staff) told me that for 3M, it is always a quality product. V-cool which is famous because a lot of the car franchisors use it, has many grades. I was told the one fixed by the car dealer are the cheaper ones but the buyer have to pay the premium price. If you go direct to V-cool dealer, you will get a better quality tint .. the only thing is some shops will resort to use the imitation or the also the cheaper one.

My 3M tint is good, no complaint so far. It does reflect the heat and UV as intended.

can let me know which shop nearest to shah alam can install 3M? hope can give shop name and contact number...

Hi everyone, do u know any authorised 3M tinting shop in Northern Region, Penang/mainland ???
Urgent bcos my car is out now....

thx

rizal is right. i am using 3M on one of my cars, and smartag can't work thru it.. yes, that's a hassle i am regretting. the heat reduction however, is one of the best.

V-kool works with Smart Tag. At least for mine it does but the heat reduction is pretty pathetic compared to others in the market these days.

I just added another layer of a cheaper tint on my existing one cause it's just too damn HOT these days.

Hi Louiswaw,

I am one of those E39 owners who are using Huper Optik films. You can easily google the brand name for more information. I found the film to be very very good and also there's no issue with smart tags. It is said to be compliance with JPJ (although it will certainly fail Puspakom checks), and they are willing to pay for any summons you incurred with your tint. I installed mine for around RM2k with Breyton at Kristal Point Bayan Lepas.

FYI, Breyton used to carry 3M brand tint films but seems they have discontinued using this brand due to customer issues.

Let me know if you need directions.

Cheers,
Neoh
