Actually putting small amount of petrol into diesel tank will improve diesel engine's performance. This mixture is commonly used by the Thais.

Previously, i accidentally pumped about 1/3 tank of petrol into my Kia Sorento. After i realised, i pumped another half tank of diesel into it.

Was worried that it might break down or stg due to the misfiring. BUT, i somehow feel that my car became more powerful, more responsive...

ratio about 5% petrol and 95% diesel.

Or maybe the refueling trucker released petrol accidentally into the underground diesel tank :listen:

But seems like some people are saying mixture of petrol + diesel could be a good thing after all.

is it a manual or auto?
if manual , were you changing gear
if auto, were you in steptron, or regular auto..

also any other condition/surroundings info, were you on a hill, was it raining ect.

It'll be a rare find to find an E90 manual, nevertheless it was an auto in normal driving mode. In fact if anything happens to the gearbox it should disengage rather than stop. Ever tried driving a car and turning off the engine. You;ll find it still moving, still being able to break and accelerate with the exception that the steering will lock upon turning.

As for dirt from the petrol kiosk we have diesal filters which should contain contamination.

As for petrol with diesal that is a first. I know when engine starts to wear out and its nearly time to change the piston rings, people do sometimes add a small amount of engine oil to assist in lubrication of the piston in the engine block but the downside would be you;ll lose some power

I think that is crap! don't do it.....mixing petrol to diesel. Auto better bro.....no need manual for the 320d. All the torque is always there, no need to change up and down gears too many times.....

Yes adding some small amount of petrol to diesel willl give a bit of ummph... why...

Because petrol is acting almost cleaner like as in detergent or any evaporative hydrocarbon and while diesel lubricate as it still very much of an.....oil. You will use petrol to clean oily components or part, so you can imagine what happen when its inside your engine....

The issue is how much of ratio before you get into trouble and WHEN you will get into one... remember your tubing and seal etc react different between diesel and petrol...

We tried a few time with the diesel truck for fun, but I wont recommend it for your german ride... given its state of tune...
