Good shit ! Engine is quiet, smooth & very light. It exceeds LL04 for your info. 100% Sin.

Well we are all humans & They are not GOD !
Dont know if you remember THey say ATF's on Auto box are Lifetime oils....
How come now they say its best to change life time oil ! Around 60 Thousand Kilos.....
we all make mistake it a learning process for all.

: )

All, I have a serious problem after changing engine oil at AB. The engine is vibrating like an old engine. Worst still, if taken out the engine oils measurement stick, you can see white smoke coming out.

Checked with my mechanic, he said this could be piston ring is "burning". Checked with AB again, they said this is normal for Diesel engine (320D). Can anyone of you help me to check if your engine is "smoking" ?

Yes, only on 320D.

Anyone can advise ?

No dipstick on my 320d. Use my OBC to check my engine oil level and I doubt any 320d (E90 at least) has a dipstick

same to me. I did not fins any dipstick on my 320d...
will check again.. and if true, its gonna be a new finding for me :)

hmm..maybe I Should be paying more attention to my car...

guys, if you open up the engine oil cover the dipstick will pop out. Have a look when the engine's cool tomorrow before starting up.

mat - a but surprising to hear of "burning piston ring" diagnosis. what the heck does that mean? how many km's did you run your engine before changing out oils? don't listen to the crap from AB that it's "normal". you should find that your engine actually gets smoother after an oil change!

my 1st oil change at 13K+ KM. Yes, it feel smoother after changed but I too gain 2 others : (i) engine is vibrating (ii) smoke from engine
i did another oil change recently (18K KM), but the 2 things still following me ...... I'm gonna to send the car to another dealer and have it check.

By the way, the dipstick is on the right hand side of the BMW engine cover, or look for the word "BMW" then you will find a stick just next to "W".

To be very honest... i cant give you any info based on what you info you have shared.

Simply because its not enough detail info to see where the problem is !!!

example, need your service history details, ....... etc etc before 1 can tell you what's wrong.

Generaly Diesel engines are louder that a petrol engine but it can be reduce to quite a fair bit ...My friend.

Was your engine just switch off when you notice smoke coming out ?

No offence' but what is burning piston ring ? Tak pernah dengar Bro !

Best of all AB say's NORMAL !

Now thats a joke

hmm.. Sounds like coolant reservoir cap..

My thoughts exactly. No dipstick popping out after removing the engine oil cap either when engine is cold or hot.

(Current FC: Last full tank-55L, clocked 720km with another quarter tank left. Estimated another 250km before refuelling)
