Hi bros,Am thinking of changing my E46 325 for an E90 320 (mainly for wife use). Was considering 325 but this one is daily use so wife prefers the less fuel costly option. Too bad...:dong: Anyway, still have my 530 if I feel the zoom-zoom urge now and then.Anyway, have asked a few people (mechs and fellow friends) and they say the E90 320 is prone to engine oil leaks. I already saw a thread on this topic. Just want to seek the experiences of others, i.e. happy stories or same issue? Is the leak really as bad as they say, or just a few isolated cases. What I have been told from mechs is that the design of the E90 320 engine makes it more susceptible to these leaks. True or false? Thanks!

So far my E90 no oil leak but accordingly to Ingress it is recommended that the seals should be changed every 2 years.

My 320 N46 leak issues resolved. The culprit will normally be the from 1.profile gasket 2. rocker cover and 3. vacuum pump. The 1 &2 is relatively cheap to replace but vacuum pump will cost you around RM 1.2 K to replace. With all those 3 items repaired, I'm done. So far no more leaks.

Bro BlackE90, 320d would be my first choice definitely..... power + economy....best of both worlds. Unfortunately, pockets not so deep these days :)

Bro astroboy, yea.... keeping the M54B25 is also an option. Though getting a bit old in the tooth now. Still the power is there.

If I keep the 325, then Camrys, Accords, etc... no problem. Can continue to tapau.... but if I change to 320, then have to adjust thinking a bit. Settle on tapau non-mod Waja, Wira, etc... Camrys, Accords, etc.. will be in similar performance range already (straight line anyway). FYI, I am a bit aggressive, so maybe good to tone down with a 320 :D

320i can tapao the 2.4L Camry or Accord, but u need to choose your playing field la. They speed cut at 200kph, we can push right through 215kph.. :4:

True, but probably run out of road before can even reach 215km/h :) Anyway, don't play-play at those speeds. Besides, not often we get those opportunities. Am talking more about the usual traffic light/toll booth kind of spurts. Few times have encountered pesky camry/accord who tailgate me like they are supercar or something expect me to let them go. Reach toll booth/traffic light same time different lane, when go.....zoom! Shoot ahead too far for them to catch up.... teach them a lesson to know their car first :D

Am glad you got yours fixed. So means the problem not a chronic one after one. Thanks for sharing

Well Firz67 said is true . My 320i just show check engine error . I bring it to my friend and checked . My friend show me to see the engine oil leak . He told to me change gasket which is on left side , right side of engine is happening on leak also . After change will be no more problem . Fuel consumption is my 1st important thing i consider just like you . After a while i realize that lesser problem is utmost important . Fix one time can spend 1 yr of ur oil . Think wisely

Oil leak too much , oil dropped to charging battery and linked engine cause error . BMW its so costly
