Sifus & bros..I'm planning to own a 320 2.0.(esp. bcoz of the 6cyls & double vanos).My current ride is e36 325.What are the things that I must consider when choosing this car? Any tips for me before getting one??I cant afford to get a terrible headache after buying..tq in advance..

hmmm dont see any points or reason selling off 325i and get 320i then as you will regret of the car performance and ride. Maintenance wise pretty much the same for both cc.

mine is an e36 325 yr 1994..means alredi 13yrs old car..320 2.0 means newer car and cheaper in term of the r/tax...i'm aware of the performance between these two..but maybe 150hp is enough for me (i hope..)

trust me, you will regret getting a 150hp 320i...

What are you looking for? performance? E46 320i aint got that for sure...

is 150hp is lousy for me to consider?? (never test drive this model b4)..
i just thought that it is better to buy 320 2.0 (which is 6clndr & dble vanos)
than having the 318 2.0 which is 4cyndr & with lower hp..(143hp if not mistaken).
I never consider the e46 325 is bcoz i'm trying to avoid the higher r/tax la bro..
but if the 325 & 320 means a HUGE difference in performance...maybe i should go for an e46 325 instead..

320i 2.0 has 150hp, 2.2 has 170hp. 325i has 192 hp. There are a few 2nd hand 325 for sale and it ranges from 105k - 108k. Do check out the Star.

bimmer is a heavy car and 150hp is not a lot. Just test drive a few and you will know.

Both pre-facelifted and facelifted 325 are having the same M54 engine,right??

Hi Wanfala,

Your E36 is a much more simple car to maintain while E46 6 potters especially with double vanos, there plenty of extra sensors to watch out for. All those sensors have its lifetime.

Do call a few E46 members and ask them on their feedback, many are busy at work and cant find time to post in forum.

Keep in mind that with the revised road tax rates the difference between 2.5 and 2.0 isn't that much, a few hundred RM.

If you have in mind to get E46 regardless of 318, 320, 325, 328 or 330
Try to consider below factor for price comparison

1. Check on CKD, CBU, Recond unregisted or AB.
2. Bodykit attached either SMG, AC Schnitzer, Hamann, Breyton, ///M or Alpina
3. Version : Lifestyle, Executive or M-Sport
4. Rims package 16", 17", 18" or 19" standard

Please take note if you compare 2 cars with same year manufactured year and factor in the above mention items, you will find the selling price vary about RM30,000.

Roughly, i want to make a max. loan of 100k or below (9yrs) to keep the installment below 1.3k. For the downpayment, dont hv much...around 10k only.

From my observation, 320 2.2 is about 140k++...

For now, maybe the 320 2.0 or 325 prefacelift are within my budget, it's around 115k or below.
There is one 320 2.0 with s/roof summo- at 99k..but maroon colour la pulakk...Hmmmm

Maybe I just wait until early nxt yr to get a better bargain and can go for 320 2.2..

Met Chikadeez in Ipoh last Saturday with his 320 2.0 M Sport version....
Perghhhhhhhh....cannot tahan alredi...very cun la his car, like new and of course with the suede leather seat summo!!
he bought it at 150k+ last yr.
Wondering what's the price now..any idea??
