2004 520 mil:79K AB full service RM136K oribasic2005 523 mil:81K AB full service RM146K oribasicwhich one more worth?which models less problems?which you recommend?

Go with 523 as it will give more power, 520 is under power and you wont enjoy the driving pleasure...

the answer is obvious here.
The 523 is newer, lower mileage and the 10k difference makes it worth the same as the older 520.

I would go for the 523 here.

523 gives more engine punch than 520..2.2 litre engine is adequate for daily use but it will lack something compared to 2.5cc machine..

which one more worth?

which models less problems?

which you recommend?

M54b22 is proven reliable,2005-2006 magnesium engine prone to makan engine oil. Unlike newer Lci one. Anyway its depend on luck. If u want more power go for m54b25 525i less headache. Or 530i even better.

I vote 523 without a doubt. But if you are driving in a very jam area daily, the 520 is ok and cheaper.

personal comment,

I am using 520i, it actually depend what u want, if you are a hardcore driver, even 530 is not enough for you. Frankly say, 520 is not sluggish and underpower. Initially i taught so but until i know how to control and drive it,no regret. My only regret is, the upgrade space is smaller compare to others. What i mean is, when i need power to chase down another car, i would not have the pleasure to put it on "D" mode only and in diffrent timing i would need to change to "DS" or even manual.

If you wish to invest, i would recommend to go for 530D, the fuel comsumption is a surprise. However as owner for 520, it is a good car especially u r looking for comfort and if u understand it, it can be a fast car, it depends on driver not the car.

Agreed to Anthony comment, i have 520i 2003 E39 no issues, depends on how you wanna drive it at top speed i can still hit 200 ++ km/h with no issues. Fuel consumtion really depends on your driving method.

maintaining the UDM is the important factor with the right replacement being used and not compromised.
