Hey there.....Im juz wondering dat have anyone fitted 19 inch rim on a Z3?Im currently using 18 inch on my Z3 but it's still looks too small for me...Any advice/comments on this?Tq.....Here's my car wit 18 inch wheelsView attachment 6842

i tink it will look good but i am more worried about the clearance between the rims and and the car fenders...
Has anyone fitted their Z3 with 19 inch rims?
Anyone??

Bro,

I think 18" just suit well wt yr car. Only it looks smaller coz of the design & colour. U'll face more problem if u exceed the recommended size written at the body panel(door)

Thanks 4 ur advice intialM...
I think i juz might have to change a new set of wheels to make it look bigger...
Wat rims will look bigger u think?

You must be on 225/40R18 tyres now?

It will be ok to fix 225/30R19 , 235/30R19, they will be ok.

I'm currently using 225/40/18 up front and 235/40/18 at the back...
If u think it's possible for me to install 19 inch rims to my ride
then i will start hunting for 19 inch rims now...
Any other comment?

Wat rims will look bigger u think?

Any rim that is not deep dish. The spoke must be toward the edge. Colour must not be dark. Being a BMW fan for me its a must for staggered set up. If u insist on 19" make sure the offset is suitable for yr car to avoid tyre rubbing. Tyre shop will always want to make more sales. Get a pre-agreement wt the shop on fitment of the rim.

Installing 16" - 19" as long as the overall diameter of the wheel is the maintain, it will be ok.
Check http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
Play with the numbers and you will understand better. The diameter must be within 3% difference.
Example: 225/50R16 has 24.85" diameter while 235/30R19 has 24.55" diameter.
The difference is 1.21%
It's important to keep the diameter within 3% of the original, so that your speedo and more importantly ABS would work correctly. A smaller wheel will have to spin more to cover the same distance than a large wheel. Think 13" an 19"

initialM is right too about offset. Keep to the same offset is possible.
Try http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
Original offset of a Z3 rim is 47mm. Therefore a 225 tyre on 47mm offset rim will be ok.
But my wheels are 40mm offset (they stick out by 7mm) I cannot use 225 tyres as it will start rubbing, thus I have to settle for 215 or 205 tyres. Trust me. I learnt the hard way. Those plastic wheel housing will set you back by RM600 / pair. :stupido:

Thanks ausserdem....
Wat do you mean with the plastic wheel housing?
Is it the black cover on top of the front tyre?

Yes, those black plastic cover on top of the front tyres.
They are designed to shield out pebbles and water during driving.
Check out attached photo. I trimmed the hanging bits out while waiting for new housing to arrive.

Meanwhile to make you feel more confident that 19" is possible on your ride,

Hamann recommends Front 235/35ZR19 / Rear 265/30 ZR 19 on their HAMANN
