huhuh, i'm facing the same problem since im oso using 18 rims/tyres. now im thinking to change back to 17''..:46:. the fastest speed that i' ever drove is only 160km/h and that was when i started to notice the goyang-goyang.:stupid:

im able to drive at 200 with no goyang2 wiith 18' set. i dunt thing the goyang2 is due to bigger rims..
it could be due to many reason like tyre, absober, road surface etc..

the only bad effect due to bigger rims is its kinda float if langgar lopak air and can feel a lil bit berat..and of coz tayar lagi mahal..
good effect.. look cantik and improve cornering..

:p

Bro, this is just my personal advice. The stable of the car really depends on the momentum and gravity force that made by the car during driving. Regardless what size of the rim you use, since the gravity force is in correct manner, you won't get any disturbance movement.

To make sure your car is in ideally stable condition, you can try this:

1) If you use 18" sport rim, try to use dual condition tire (wet and dry), by this u can eliminate the goyang condition during both time (dry and raining)

2) Use the correct absorber type, different absorber type, different specialty.

3) Lowering the car it's can really helpful, because you push the gravity force close to the earth, minimize the air obstruction during speeding, u will feel ur car like melekat atas jalan (F1 proved it!). Furthermore, less obstruction/friction, less fuel consumption!

4) Try to install strut bar for both front and rear absorber, this will help because during you taking the cornering/turn, your momentum direction will change and instead of the momentum push only one side of your car (left or right), this strut bar will distribute the gravity force to the other side (right or left), so you'll feel more comfortable during cornering. But, for sure, on the normal road, it'll be shaking a bit since the both side of the car (right and left) always sharing the movement.

Hopefully this tips could help. :top::top::top:

you need to check your stereng rack aswell...i had same problem...done alligment every week but still drive like snake..once i change my stereng rack...all problem gone..

Hi, my e46 going to sit on a 19"s soon, any advice, greatly appreciate.

Have you check the tyre offset bro? I don't think you'll be like the scratching sound between your tyre and wheel arch. I'm not really sure, but most of the e46 that fit with 19" will need to do the the wide-body, if not, the possibility of the wheel to scratching with wheel arch qte high. Especially if you use the tyre with 265 / 275 series..

Hey guyz, really appreciate yr concern. I got into da 19s idea when I heard about someone having it on his 46 with 245/35/19 rubber? And he has no problem with it... I just checked with my regular tyre shop today, he only reckon 18s for a 46 with 225/40/18 n 255/35/18 for staggered, as for 19s, he reckon 235/40/19 n 265/35/19 and he also raised his concern about knocking against da arch... I'm confused now...

The best idea now, you can ask that "someone" about how he managed to do it. Maybe we all can share...

hey guyz, did u guyz lowered yr UDM? I've decided for 18s now with 225/40/18, Great! And I'm moving to Eibach now.
Since u guyz have da experience, do u mind sharing? Greatly appreciate.
Btw, I see most of da Eibach lowered da vehicle by 30mm, do we have a choice? Do da FR lowered by da same amount?
Wonder if any of our member has used one for sale? Cheers!
