wta e39 without floor mat secure hole

i realise my e39 CKD yr2000 dont have the floor mat hole for me to secure the floor mats.i thought all e39s have that capabilities ?

actually can ask cabri deco to punch hole onto floor carpet and put in a fasterner to secure the mat.

He found the hole already. I think the car never uses the carpet securing screw so the floor carpet (not the mat) covers the hole and not easily seen. You have to rub around the area to locate it. The hole is already there and the carpet is already punched, u just need to find it.

I read somewhere the original purpose of the hole is to drain any water that gets into the footwell, but then adapted to use the carpet securing screw as a double purpose.

Punching a hole into the floor of the car would be a cause to start rust creeping under the carpet I would think, as you are exposing the metal to the elements.
