Just wanted to share my experience.

As I had the same problem after changing my floor mats to rubber ones from BMW (i.e. my front passenger cabin floor were wet)
Water would accumulate under the rubber floor mats where were very odd.

So what I did was to concentrate my water on the window on the front passenger door.

As per cslau, what I noticed was that there water was flowing out at the bottom of the door between the metal door and the internal door panel.
Upon removing the door panel today at Quill, what they've found was that there is an internal lining (in grey that's glued to the inside of the metal door), the bottom was not sealed tight, hence water was flowing through.

They've just had it resealed properly.

Fingers crossed. Will keep have it monitored over the next several days.

The problem I had earlier has been resolved. It was the rubber on the front passenger side door that has clogged up with dust over time. Once that was cleared up by IA, everything is fine now!

:afraid: NEW CAR? alredi facing this problem?
u must have got ur UDM tinted rite. According to some specialists, if u havent got the door panel removed, the glue will last at least 4-5 years. The only chance tat the door panel being removed for a new car is tinting. So guys, gotta giv 100% observation when ppl removing ur door panel

Who doesn't have their ride tinted these days? Had Quill arrange their panel to tint for me (to save time).

Sigh. Seems my problem hasn't been solved. Water still seeping in (though seems to be lesser). This could be the other reason. Thanks beemerx for sharing. BTW, would you be able to snap a pic as to which part of the door rubber is the cause?

Personally this is my first foray into contis, and boy what a bad start - having to know that it seems this car is so sensitive to water contamination into the cabin. I've gone through several Jap makes and no issues such as this.

I would have never known the severity to the extent of this if I didn't change to rubber mats or have not washed my own car.

I would advise all bro/sis of e90 to check your floor mats after a heavy rain / car wash.

Hi, I spotted wetness underneath the brake paddle after car wash. Can somebody share their experience to get this fix? Thanks in advance.

Hi bro.

For my case.

Mine was rectified - caused due to tinting folks.
Apparently some clips within the door panel went missing - when they fitted the door panel back, that allowed the water to seep in from the door itself.
There's apparently a section that pushes the water out of the cabin. As the clips weren't in place, this cause the water to come in and appear above the floor mat and below.

(I change my floor mats to rubber, hence was able to distinguish this).

Thanks for the info. However, I doubt that the water sipped in from the door as the wet spot is right in the middle underneath the brake paddle near the plastic patch of the driver's side floor. Is it possible for water to sip through the accelerator paddle from beneath?

My apologies beemerx for riding on your original posting.

I'm suffering from a similar problem. Water comes in from under both my front doors. Can someone please recommend the best workshop to troubleshoot and repair this issue around KL/PJ? Not interested in taking my ride back to AB or other authorized service centers. Please help.

Cheers

Hi DieSel, I've face the same issue as yours when raining time the water comes in from under both my front doors. My advice is Do not send your car to any authorized service centers because end of the day they might have no idea how to fix it. Try check it out with those car center for repair car cushion and interior (perhaps you can check from any workshop that can recommend to you). Mines done at Ipoh because last whole month is almost rain everyday so I can't wait go back to KL and look for any workshop. So far everything is alright.

Hi Diesel, my passenger font also wet during rainy season last time. I bought a seal tape (glue on both side) and stick on the inside door panel of the passenger door. Initial gap due to tinted guy lost some of the clips. Until now works well. I bought in Ace Hardware last time, sold in roll. You can try this.

There is a hole beneath each of the door for water outflow. After awhile mus clear the dirt to prevent blockage. There is also a rubber nut inside the door panel...its a wear n tear thingy...so it will mud n loosen....this will also give way for water to go in from the leather door panel into ur car. This 2 troubleshoot might help u. If not to the dealers workshop....go to any bimmer specialists...im sure they can get it done. Last time i paid 100 bucks for tat lil nut in OKR Heritage...which i think is a total rip off :14:
