dear all,my car is suffering from a very poor stream, power of the jet washer from the bonnet, dont know what seems to be the problem, any ideas? it is quite bad as the stream only reach the lower end of the windscreen with very minimal power. cheers

mine also problem, aiming out like loose canon, instead of spray the windscreen, he spray the motorcyclist. i cabut first................ :D

Maybe it would shoot further if u stroke it harder........ :D

It may be stuck nozzle like what Jeff said, than it could be the stick tubing, and lastly and most costly the pump.

Check one by one.

If us a needle, can use it to aim nozzle by sticking needle in noozle gently and then adjusting it, like very small joystick, but dam difficult to aim, I tell u!

u need to adjust the nozzle use a small needle to adjust the the nozzle, if water is week change the motor side of the washer container, less than Rm80.

i have checked the nozzle by using needle as many of you had said. but still the problem persist. called the dealer who sold me the car and he said, it could be the tubing that had dirt bundle up or i have put too much windscreen washer in and make it a bit frothy. thing to do is to get a jet stream to run through the tube but where on earth will i get things like that, the only place i can think of is golf courses where people wash their shoes and clubs... hahaha

anyway, what if i had put too much windscreen washer into the car? it seems like an one way valve that you cannot widthdrawn the fluid out from the reservoiur as there is a filter on the lid..

not too keen about sending to the car to BMW. it might be 80 ringgit back home but overhere, it would be 80 pounds! hahaha..

will check one by one, thanks for the advice

why dont you try to take out the tubing from the nozzle and try to chk if the water come out fast or not, if ok then might be the nozzle block, if still weak then you can clear the tubing by running more water thru and can chk the pump is kaput.

This is my DIY windscreen noozle adjuster cum poker.

material:

1. sewwing needle, they come in various size and cheap. and they also very "strong/hard" (difficult/can't be bend but if you try hard it will snap off)
2. Soft wood (balsa wood) the size of pencil will do.
3. Plier

how to made it:

poke a hole at the centre of one end of the wood with the needle till it goes half way. pull it out using the plier and put it back the other way around (this time the blunt side into the hole). knock it a little bit so that it goes in a little bit more. walla, you have the tool already.

how to adjust the windscreen nozle:

It is best to have a helper (your children will do) to activate the water jet continuously. at the same time you use the DIY tool to adjust the shoot. by having the water jetting out continously, you'll know where you want to point it.

Good luck

Bro,
Alternative to a sewing needle, the safety pin will also do as it gives better leverage!
