Park my E36 near my sis apartment last weekend. When come back, heartbroken to see 6 inches long crack on my windscreen. Suspect kids throwing stones because park nearby playground. Anybody know how much it cost to replace E36 windscreen? Any other solution, repair can aaa? Chopshop can get aa? go buy windscreen insurance and claim after few month??Any infos or guide will be appreciated..... :)

u can call first div for the part price...but donno what will the labour cost be!

Try to get the ori eg Sekurit etc

If I were u, I will avoid MSG brand (local) - cheaper but nite driving is not that comfy due to the glare from incoming cars.

U can also changed to 2nd hand unit - at least it's ori.

Interesting idea........ anybody know how much for 2nd hand from chopshop cost.

the last i checked for msg new was RM 650 new for E46 for E36 it should be about the same or even slighty lower. Second hand should be about RM 300-RM400 i guess. bear in mind its without installation. hope this helps

I believe only cracks within a certain length could be repaired, something like not more than 4 to 5 inches in length. Anyone can clarify on this?

Thanks for the offer. However for my case, the crack already propagate until the edge of the glass. It is close to 10 inches now. So bit scared to just repair it.

What to do.... drive like kura-kura for now and save up money to replace the windscreen.

1 more question, my E36 rear view mirror were directly mounted on the windscreen. If I change to those China or thai windscreen, how they fix back the rear view mirror? Double side tape??? :dunno:
