why there is a whoosh whoosh wind sound when i pedal the speed to 150km/h and above? any idea? some told me coz of the side mirror. to speed (at any limit or more than 220km/h) without whoosh whoosh sound, they advice me to change the side mirror to m5 side mirror. any suggestion or advice? i just dislike this sound when i speed above 140km/h. just irritating. also any idea what is the "roof spoiler" serve the purposes?:wink:

bulls**t!!! I just floored my E60 M-Sport along North South Highway from KL-JB-KL last Wednesday... average 160km/h but max at 220km/h... no whoosh whoosh sound leh!
I don't think it's your problem with side mirrors... but if you can afford RM5k++ for M5 side mirror, go for it :D
as for roof spoiler.. serves no specific purpose... only makes ur car looks nicer :top: I had AC roof spoiler on my E60 :D

wah then wat the hack....i floored my car and when it hit 150km/h sure got whoosh whoosh sound. when i 1st took deliver of my car, (for 1st 6months) no such sound at all. only latelyl tis few months i realize such sound. last time i pedal 220 also no such sound. but now 150 sure got whoosh whoosh sound. any idea any1one?
aiya thule m5 mirror no need so exp la. try bid from amazon. poor people like me sure always scout things out from amazon coz cheaper ma weeee....

out of topic a bit : Thule ur gps (retrofit) brand is from taiwan / china or uk / euro?

I don't know about the noise problem... maybe other forumers can shed some lights here.

But as per your question, I am using Garmin gvn53 with MalSing Map... so far everything's OK :top: what about you?? Still haven't done anything to your car yet???

From which part of the car is the sound coming from? Front? Back? Side?

whoosh whoosh sound indicate you are picking up speed, the faster u go the louder the noise, when u get irritated u will slowdown, that is the latest technology from BMW to deter speeding..........cabutttt.....

Brother, instead of using the malsingmap, which has not been updated to latest version for quite some times, i would recommend you to download the malfreemaps, the original team who did the malsingmap last time at http://www.malfreemaps.com/ :top:

thule i know u using garmin. but ur product is import from china/taiwan OR uk/euro? i already placed order in singapore and its gonna to be from euro manufactured. total cost me about RM6,700++ (SGD 2,250). he told me if the product is from taiwan/china (Aftermarket coz most of the consumer wan safe $$$) then sure tis gps will have lot of never ending issues after 10k km drive. i don no how truth it is but i placed order for euro.
finally i going to change my gps and at the same time i will mod my wheel back to 16" after on M5 18' rim for 7-8months. the ride...is just too uncomfortable for me. hai after several months, im back to old form with 16'' rim and waste all the $$$$ on previously changes. knn
as for the woosh woosh sound i still think of solution

all passenger inside the car can hear the woosh woosh sound when i floored it and hit 150km/h. the more i floored further, the noise become louder and louder...knn!!! i think the sound come from center (not too sure from side or center). as for how the sound been resulted...im still thinking hard and figure it out. any idea on tis bro?

some hard tyres create lot of noise when driving at high speed, hehehe, not sure, guessing only

So far I don't have any problem with my Garmin unit :D but for the price that you are paying for the Euro manufactured Garmin, I can install Interface, reverse camera + Garmin gvn 53 onto my E60 already :top:
I have faith in the brand, coz I have a few friends who bought the same Garmin and had used for a long time without any problem. I think maybe the guy who sell the Euro Garmin to you want to make sales and try to frighten you with those China/Taiwan issue... after all, the price is more competitive compared to Euro counterpart.

walan.....me 1 item = to ur 3 item? between what is interface for again? lol...im greek in all tis stuff. wat to do...already pay 50% down payment for them to proceed my order liao want cancel also cannot now. unless tat shop owner sister is my gf la, :)

Maybe you can check the rubber linings of your doors. This is part of the wear and tear as the car gets older. If the rubber is loose or not fitted properly, this can affect your wind proofing.

And it can come from tyres too ... maybe poor alignment & balancing.

yeah I agree that the rubber linings need to be checked...

the interface needs to be installed first in order to put aftermarket products such as CD/MP3/radio player, Dension and Garmin unit. I am not well-versed in all these as well...
As I bought Japanese specs E60, there are only 2 choices - CCC conversion from Japan to UK/MYS specs; or to add the interface before installing the items that I mentioned above. I chose the latter :D now I can listen to my favourite songs thru CD or USB port and also see the map thru my 8.8" iDrive screen :top: even though I don't really need the Garmin, hahaha!!! It's cool though :vroam:

thx bro. u give me some insight about tis. i think more or less it have got to do wit tis rubber things as the sound whoosh whoosh only appear after i had my car re-spray due to the scratches done few months back. they did remove the door rubber but as for whether they placed it back properly, then i cant tell by my naked eyes. damn...tat whoosh whoosh sound just get me in my nerves whenever i floored harder. :(

get u thule. but the things tat i hope for most is bluetooth system but too bad im disappointed as till to-date none of them able to retrofit blueetooth system and have it useable under i-drive system. only gps can gao tim. bluetooth cannot. kek sim
