Will 245/40/17 fit on rear of E36 328I?

Hello All, I am planning to change my wheels and intend to put 245/40/17 at the back. I know the oem spec mentioned 235/40/17 for the back. Will this size fit with no problem? I know the rims can take it. Any ideas?

Definitely,it all depends on the offset of ur wheels,i have a set BBS 17x8J ET 38,running on 245/40,no problem at all,most of the 17' r running on 45 series which is slightly thicker

but the fronts will rub a little on full lock.... but i just live with it.

when i had my E36, it was running 225/45 front and 245/40 17 rear on staggerred M Contours. no problems.
