...you didnt read newspaper today ah? there was a big explosion at the 1 world hotel car park...that was the end result!

wah lau, Brother ! like that meh.... Afterwards tonight BMWs come TT tonight and blow you away lah ! !

These are the details of my ECU remap

1st Map – Loaded in took 20minutes. Started the engine. On idling can hear pistons knocking. Ignition timing settings too high. Retard too advance. Acceleration very nice and a lot of torque.

2nd Map - Loaded in took 20minutes. Started the engine. No knocking. Drove around. Beautiful torque from 2000rpm to 7200rpm on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear but unfortunately at 1000rpm to 2000rpm during slow taking off. Got slight knocking.

3rd Map - Loaded in took 20minutes. By this time its already 12.30am (6 Hours). Same as 2nd Map. Car power feels like stock.

4th Map - Went home to shower and met up with Bernard again at 1.30am. However, it was still the same as 2nd map. If this map no knocking then will load in 5th Map, which will have more power on the high end. Unfortunately we had to load back the original map. Reach home at 3.45am.

Conclusion

1) Anti knocking sensor faulty but OBC didn’t detect anything.
2) RON95 causing these knocks but re-mapping should be done on this RON, so when use higher RON, performance will be better.

Next step of Action

1) Go to Ingress and diagnose Anti knocking sensor, if got fault then change. Re-flash Engine ECU and Gearbox ECU.
2) Bernard will write a fresh software

Looks like the remapping is not a good idea ! ! I'm on a 320i and was thinking about remapping, but after your review. I guess the plan is a no go. Thank You for your heads up....

Cheers Bro....

Put in H & R anti-roll bar, can get immediate response.

Bro, I had enough already lor ! Anymore modding, my Home Minister will GHEE me already.... :thefinger:

Actually not much gain you will achieve by remapping NA car. We have tested that before previously with my previous e90 325i which is stock against another one with remap. The difference is very minimal.

Remapping makes your car breathe better. Whereas my car has slight knocking issue even in stock map when im on RON95. If on Vpower Racing of course no knocking. So now i need to find out weather my Anti Knocking Sensor is faulthy or not.

this is what I feel after my remap, no diff,,,,,, but, heard of so many feedback by the others that it added so much better driving dynamic to their car, was wondering for a while and almost call up bernard to rectify if the right map was loaded to mine. Now hearing from you, i think you are right, not much can be gained from a stock NA engine.

I see.... Good Luck Bro, do keep your car update info coming in !

Cheers

For newer BMW NA engines, it s pretty much optimised... imagine the E90 325 rated at 215hp and 250Nm... those are impressive figures for a mass production engine... Don't compare to the high revving Honda VTEC, they strive on high RPM HP but loses out on low end torque which most of us use for daily drive....

Remapping would smoothen the power delivery which may not do much to the peak power but add a bit more oomph for mid range and low rpm... This may not be evident on WOT 1/4 mile runs but more on everyday stop go flexibility....

bro.. let us know when you are actually in front..

I dont know much about ecu mapping but know a bit about EEPROM. There is a limited number of times you can reflash it.. Just be careful. I think you are almost at your maximum limit. :smokin:

Please do consult with others as well.

Yes bro you are right, 1 car in front and that is my car which is stock! We tested few rounds and mine stock is half a car in front comparing to the one with remap plus upgrade of drop-in filter. It could be his is on 19" and with more fuel comparing with mine on 18" with half tank fuel. But my body weight is higher than him wor.... hehehehe....

Hahaha... good that you still can remember well bro. You "sigh" because of us upgrading our rides ??? Aren't you be happy for your buddies :p Or.... it's long overdue for you to upgrade too

Yeah E46F, Upgarde your ride. i book your rims in advance. :) Your yellow banana can transfer to 335i. :)

bro E46F, Upgarde your ride ma. i book your performance exhaust in advance. vrroommmmm:rock:

choq

The bad thing is that this E90 has been so reliable with hardly any problems and issues. No big justification to upgrade yet. Giving it a couple more years and see how. In the mean time I just have to get used to smelling you guy's smoke. haha
