Castrol GTX Magnatec 15-40 Semi Syn / Bardhal 5-40 fully syn


2)What are your service intervals?
1000KM on Castrol GTX 20-50w then 4000 on either Magnatec or Bardhal, cycle repeats (Oil filter will change before the Castrol GTX is filled and it to last till Bardhal)

3)How much does your oil cost per bottle?
Castrol GTX 20-50 is RM32 while Magnatec is RM72 and Bardhal is RM75

4)Where do you get the oil from?

GTX 20-50 for modern engine is from TESCO Puchong while Castrol is from Volvo Club member and Bardahl is from BMW Club forum member "airline"

I am still at the experimenting stage of engine oils...used Mobil1 SuperSyn previously and I kinda like it. Now using Shell Helix....kinda OK, I guess. Might be switching to Syntium 3000 next just to see how it performs. Probably will go back to Mobil1 Supersyn if the Syntium doesnt work out.

I guess you are not too good at reading. Tried Mobil1 before. I really like it and might switch back to it after my oil experiment. Gold color should be the 5W-40 while the silver should be 5W-50

Tested Mobil1 5-50 RM149 from carrefour... superb on high rev and long distance but feel sluggish on city drive

Try Liqui Moly product from Germany. All engine oil comes in 5 liters and it cost RM198 for Fully Synthetic. UDM must use Germany product.

Tried Redline, Amsoil, Mobil 1, Torco.

I like Torco SR5 the best but its too expensive for me. So using Amsoil 5W40 now. Its better than Redline and Mobil 1.

Anything that surpass MB229.3, LL-01 & ACEA A3.
Weight Xw-40 for better high-temp viscosity, HTHS, and better oil efficient.

10,000km. Is easier to remember.

Whatever is the cheapest. Castrol EDGE 5w-40 is great price at RM150/bottle.

Anywhere as long as is cheap.
