Which 1 To Buy 525 or 528

My friend is in need for an advise on which model to buy. We've found 2 car 525 and 528 year 2001 (double vanos) with the same price. Which model will be the best bet.Feel the 525 is a bit more responsive at lower end as compared to the 528. Both condition about the same. He doesn't mind about the road tax difference and resale value. The choice is more towards the driving feeling and maintenance.Advise please

528 should have better low and mid performance compare to 525.. please send it for check.

528 always the best choice as it is the higher end of BMW. A 528 after mod with 20" rims and twin tail pipes also paint in black, add angel eyes and HID light.... It will look very impressive also can perform better then 525.

E60 or E39 is always my dream UDM.. test drive a few and I really love the 528 .. at least it can carry the 5 as an UDM.. any less then 2800cc is underpower la.. Do you agree?

That's the thing, when test drive both the cars, the 525 seems more responsive at the lower end, guess this because of the M54 deliver faster torque response as compared to the M52TU spec.
Can somebody confirm on this. He's still undecided between the two.

I suggest you go test drive the Vees from BMW. I think you'll worship their engineers as god.

Bro, choose 525 because it is with new engine and newer car.
528 year 2001 ..???? register 2001 maybe .... production 99 or 2000.

Macha, the 525 seems more responsive because it has a shorter stroke compared to the 528 and hence the revs go up much faster. But in actual fact the 528 picks up speed faster than the 525 because of the additional torque.

MY WORK IS DONE (Barring unforseen circumstances)

Manage to get another kaki to the Bee Mmm family. He choose the 525 over the 528. Deciding factor, newer engine, easier to maintain, slightly better interior condition than the 528, not to mention the road tax savings that can be channel to other areas.
Paid deposit, now waiting to do necessary check on the car AB service record and the diagnose.

For info both the 525 and 528 has the same year of made and year of registration (200 made/2001 register) both CKD.

Just outta curiousity, did he verify the 525i as the real thing ? I cud be wrong here but there aren't that many CKD 2000 525i here! Let's just hope that he's not getting a last batch 523i rebadged as a 525i - it has happened before!

I've done the necessary check through it's vin no. on both the car (525/528) both showed actual production was in 2000, whereas the year registered for both cars is 2001. The 525 came out with engine M54 right hand drive etc, 528 came out with engine M52 right hand drive etc.
I dont think the car gonna be a problem (in the registration dept at least) as both are CKD Pemasangan Tempatan la guys.
