where to send my gearbox to service if cannn

im not very sure my gearbox when i start my car then put the gear to D or R or watever the signal show like this (!) is it my gearbox already zzzzzzzzzzz or i need to change the sensor or the oil or???? any idea plsssss..... or i have to send to specialist?? i dono where plss info me......

Same thing happen to my friend's E46 gearbox. So he change the oil and filter first but lasted only a while and then "caput". Need to overhaul gearbox. Change everything inside including clutch plates but except final drive gear, cannot find stock. Total cost RM4500.00. Call Selvam 012-2927070 Location: Old Town PJ near Old Klang Road.

How's the car after the overhaul? 4,500 sounds quite cheap. The prices I have been quoted are between 6,500 to 8,500 for overhaul only. Is that about right guys?

price of oveverhauling the gearbox depends on what you change. torque converter, pump, clutch plates, solenoids, bearings, seals, gears, shaft....etc.

always ask the workshop to itemised the parts to be replaced, then you can compare pricing.

a good workshop will be able to provide 1 to 2 years unlimited mileage warranty as well.

after having your gearbox refurbish, also need to update the software.

lastly, check the ATF temperature. 80% of gearbox failure is due to heat. if temperature is high, replace the oil cooler. otherwise, you will have problem again very soon.:top:

I've found a good mechanic .. Albert in Pandan Indah .. near to Pantai Medical Specialist Center. His H/P : 0122017792. He is a nice guy and price are reasonable.
