To be correct, the vent tube should connect to the battery. I changed my battery last year and i don't think the mechanic connect the vent tube to the battery. I will check mine tomolo.

so that any gases expelled by the battery will vent to the exterior of the car instead of building up in the battery compartment where if sparked...could create an explosion.

Indeed! The vent tube is not connected to the battery.

But the problem is i can not managed to find any hole in the battery for the vent hose to connect.

Mine is aftermarket Yuasa DIN88 battery.

Can u post more pic of your battery compartment? My battery got tube but I didn't see any vent tube on the car. Must check out mine as well.

MF battery do not required any filling of distill water. They are basically sealed. during charging, the vapour are gather and recycle back to the battery.

so basically no need top up and no gas/vapour generated from the battery. so no need vent outlet from the battery.

take note some old design battery use the filling cap as the venting of vapour gas.

I stand correct.. MF battery have vent outlet..

iM, u can see the vent tube in exactly position as what i posted above when u take out or push the battery outer.

The vent tube and the connector are something like this:

I just check my previous MF TRANE battery, it has the vent hose connector, but not sure last time it was connected to the vent tube or not.
