What happened to all the Alfa Romeos 156/159 boys?

Alfas can't hack it anymore at that level, or any level, other than club events Struggling to survive, no new engines, nothing new to offer the road market. Bygone era I reckon. These days, if a factory team can't be at the top of the game, not worth continuing. Even Subaru is exiting WRC

I think last season, or prior to it there was a privateer by the name of Jim Thompson driving a 156. Awesome driver, only if he had a better car:wink:

Yeah, James Thompson aka "Thommo" is an awesome driver. Won some races in a privately entered Honda. Now he is driving Lada.......hhhmmmm. Still, he is an awesome driver.

So where are the ItaliaAuto boys? Their radar is functioning all the way from Hardrock Hotel Penang?

Coincidentally, I came up behind a beautifully kept 155 TSpark just now, and he tekan when he saw me. So we had a nice run up DUKE. Lovely cars Alfas.

There are a few heavily modded 155's running around. One of them tionged Walrus_Lord's 330ci sometime back and he tekan with the 155. Couldn't shake it off on the highway rolling run which the 330i really excels at. He eventually moved over and let it pass. Another tionged me a couple of months back and sounded pretty scary, I moved over and let him past and he quickly blew by me in full glory. Seemed much faster than my car. Good thing I didn't waste petrol running with him hahah. He was probably picking on Bimmers on the road and eating them up as part of his past time hobby. Wonder what was under the hood. Hmmm...

Strangely a few of them eventually buy bimmers heh. The Audi guys refer to us bimmers as the "slow cars" as well. Maybe more bimmer owners have smaller nuts compared to Audi and Alfa drivers as well. But some say size of the brain is inversely proportional to the size of the nuts.... *cabut*

Quite possibly modded because he took off like a rabbit when I came up in his rearview mirror. I had to floor it to haul him in. We couldn't really go crazy in rush hour DUKE, and it was only a short run before my Kiara turn-off came up. His bodywork was an immaculate black. :top:

Speaking of nuts, there's not been any response to our racuning oso. Only a couple of rubber bullets. XXX's popcorn went stale

Welcome back! I see. Don't know the 1.8 but I had a T5 a few years back and it WOULD blast the rubber off a 320's tyres. Bikes would go yikes to see a stationwagon outdrag them from traffic lights

Stock for stock the N46 should still make more power and torque than the Alfa 1.8 4 banger rite? Only downside is that the E90 comes with a slushbox which saps out all the power before it hits the tarmac and should be heavier (and safer) than an older gen Alfa.

I still think the best mass produced N/A 1.6 -> 2ltr 4 bangers were made by Honda. Puts both BMW and Alfas to shame.
