I'm a newbie here n i need some advice in my plan upgrade for my car. Currently running on a 94' 325i engine for already 5y. I plan for an overhaul soo...i guess might as well upgrade it to 2.8L. I've searched the forum for some answers n here's my option - 1 - stroke it to 2.8L - which requires pistons, cams, n ?? cylinder head as well?? anything else?? 2 - buy a half cut M52B28 and plonk it in ?? 3 - overhaul the 2.5L n keep it ----> booriiingI'v asked my mech bout my plans n he said he has the 2.8L pistons n cams from his prev e46 n willing to let it go to me for a discount. But he says that since his was a double vanos cant use my cylinder head???.... i'm confused. He asked me to look for it my self or he can find it for me. Also ased a fren of mine bout it n he says i need to change the ECU n injectors too?? cause he did it in his e30 upgrade from 2.0 to 2.5LSooo.. wat i wanna know which is true???..... and which is more cost effective n also faster to do as i'm using my car as a daily transport.Thx guys

Btw you don't need the cams for a 2.5 to 2.8 stroker if I'm not mistaken. All you need is the pistons, conrod and crank. Don't need to change the ecu and injectors as well but the engine would benefit from a retune I suppose.

Try calling Lionel Koh (0122207630), he's done the conversion before.

Ok bro. Thnx for the reply. Guess sifu Lionel is THE man to ask bout this. Will call him up later then

At high rpm range, you will starve for fuel but I'm not sure replacing injector would help.

Happy searching

I'm not sure how advance is your ecu but a new Subaru nowadays doesn't need an ecu tune for modification up to 400hp from the initial 280~300hp. The ori ECU is smart enough to compensate and calibrate itself.

But at high RPM is where the fun starts:4: That's y i thought of just keepin my old engine. Wont the ECU able to compensate with the increase of just 300cc ??..... If its too much of a hassle i might just keep my engine
