Sifus,Last night going uphill very slowly, suddenly felt like the engine was going to die, no acceleration. This was very sudden as the car was moving fine then suddenly it felt as if the car was out of petrol, which wasn't the case.Pull to the side of the road and rev the engine a little and it was back to normal. Any idea the cause of this???Anyone had this experience as well??By the way, car was just serviced a month ago and is in tip top cond. Very unexpected!

KingLazy,

I had that same problem about a month ago.. Did the same thing, slowed down, revved the engine a little and it was fine after that. :dunno:

A day later, my OBC signaled me to check my radiator level.. and i found out that water was leaking into my engine. (cracks in engine head!!!) Thus resulting in a cylinder head change and more $$$ spent.

Not sure if thats the cause of the sudden lost of power.. but that really sounds like a worst case scenario.. better get it checked.

Sifus,

Thanks for the advice.

Fab, the tank was still full.

Went to check today, so far no sign of engine consuming water.

Have to see over the next few days!

Had the same problem about 1 year + ago. My e36 would not rev up. Each time I depress the accelerator, the egine died. Finally manage to revved it up higher using low gear and it was fine after that.

However, few weeks later problem came back. This time, no matter how many times I tried to rev the engine, it just died down. Had to towed it to the workshop. Replaced the fuel filter, but months later same problem appeared!.

To make long story short, the problem was clogged spark plugs. After I serviced the car and changed the plugs, problem went away!

If you have yet to service tour car do it now & change all plugs. That should fix your problem.
