Hi guys...perhaps you brilliant sifu's here can help me out. My E46 is having this problem. not so smooth in starting the engine in the morning although it starts anyway. the engine also suddenly died after the i start the car. this usually happens after i've driven the car & turn off the engine. i went to see my mechanic and he changed the spark plugs. he said if that doesnt help, then it could be the trottle body (dont know what this is....). well, the car still like that. the engine starts for few seconds, then it died. very frustrating lah!!

Bro ,

Get the throttle body & ICV cleaned / serviced .
Usually this the main culprit for erratic idling .
The flow is air intake , air filter , ICV , throttle body .

Good luck !

Bro,

Same problem with my UDM before, after service my t.body & ICV and problem solve.:top:

sounds like air flow meter problem. had the same problem myself

bro.. E46 don't have AFM.. AFM have been replaced by MAF (Mass Air Flow Meter) which eliminate the moving vane that tends to stick up.
