Well threadwear is 220, so you can gauge the wear rate, but for me even with 20+k's street use on the tyres, it was still quite fresh.

In terms of noise, compared to its competitors RE050, T1R, CSC2/3, GSD3, I find it to be the quietest of the lot. Lower end non performance oriented tyre like the Conti CC1 and XM1's or MXV8's may be quieter tho. But different category.

Maybe others can feedback as well. I guess noise is relative :)

selamat pagi,

i have a bmw 523 [e60 yr 2004 model] and a mercedes benz e240 [w210 yr 2000 model].
both cars are in need to change tyres this year.
i have been highly recomended by ban hooi tayar shop [klang] to take goodyear F1 [v groove] and continental sport 2 for good grip.
but my own mechanic told me goodyear F1 got lot of noise complaints. he is also somewhat sure of continental sport 2.

so i am asking those with the tyres [michelin ps 2 and continental sport 3 or yokohama advan or bridgestone potenza].
which tyre is most suitable for my cars?
how good is it compared to your old tyre? what are the cons?

For a low noise tyres I would reconmend PS2 or CSC3. Let me know the size maybe I can give you a quote since I'm dealing with this

Your wheel sizes may limit your tyre choice if you are having the stock wheels on both cars. Generally max performance tyres will be more noisy compared to touring or semi performance tyres. Depends on what you're looking for. The stock tyres for your cars are not max performance tyre range as demographics for the 523i and E240 is more weighted in comfort and complaint ride.

Since you have 2 cars which needs new tyres, why not hedge your choices, going with PS2 for the Merc and CSC3 for the Bimmer. CSC3 will be more noisy but better road feel, while PS2 more cushy and comfortable. They are both also about the same price. In my opinion they are the top 2 choices amongst the rest of the choices listed.

After putting them on, do a writeup and review for us comparing the 2 :)

Btw, the thumbnail pic you posted - mybeemer2.jpg is that your ride?

245/40/18 => only PS2 is available at the moment RM1070 each

235/45/17 => both CSC2 and PS2 no stock at the moment

Great. :)
225/45-17 Noice / Comfort is not an issue.
Quote for FK 452 is $530each. Price is good, but I need something grippier.
Don't mind Kumho, Hankook.

Well! Don't ask me. I'm a Michelin die hard fan  .
Used CSC2 twice on my E30 M3 Sport Evo III, only good for first 50% thread. Remaining... sign.. I have to replace it 40 or 30% thread left. The rubber just looks funny like it has been to track a lot. But I didn't. And it become noisier and noisier when the tyres are getting worn... just my 2cents and I could be wrong..

I'm using PS2 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 on my M3. Very satisfied even 10% thread left, it still very good grib and road noise remain low. :top:

:75: er46fanatic

i brought the car in under 2nd home programme
i thought mine was unique for a while until i saw quite similar version near sunway monash
i understand csc3 has just arrived into malaysia
but you prefer ps 2 still?
i still can't get my photo to appear like other writers in this thread

Nice retrofit M5 brakes on the 523i and brave to drive in a LHD in KL! LOL. From the pics, you may have to re-check your tyre sizes too :p

Noise wise, CSC3 is known to be noisy and PS2 is the quietest of the lot of max perf tyre. I've not used CSC3 but would still opt for PS2's over them cos of noise. I like a smooth slient ride.

For a formal review check out Tyre Rack's review of the Max perf tyre range.

Max Perf Tyre Shootout

what i heard from a friend from europe is that csc3 has better grip than ps2! the noise is equally same due to wearing ratio between them!

fact or false advertising?

i'm 2 weeks on new ps2's (1st timer) and have been driving conservatively as many has said that ps2 has high threadwear. now seeing this kinda give me the urge to start thrashing the tires :)

this tires have to thrash if dont thrash might aswell buy simetyres...:67:

PS2 seem to be good for me. I had used CSC2, Pzero & Yoko Advan..I can say PS2 is the best tires ever made..As been said check your tires Pressure to begin with..

xxxx,

My personal experience.

I was initially using Mich PS2 on my ride. Lovely tyres. Good grip and comfy. If its noisy, check tyre pressure. However, after one year of driving, one tyre failed. I found a nice cut on the "INSIDE" along the rim. At first, i thought someone busuk hati puncture my tyre. If so, why puncture on the "INSIDE", not "OUTSIDE". Easier right ? Balik to the tyre shop. The Owner said he is receiving similar problems from other Mich PS2 users. Either there is a Mich Serial Killer on the loose or just QA/QC issues at the Michelin Plant.

I changed to CSC3.....no regrets. After 3 years, I am changed my tyres again, using CSC3 again.

Sorry for the bad luck, I've been stay with PS2 on my ///M3 19' for 9 years since the first owner til now. So far so good.
But on my wife's car, she is using CSC2 18", but after few months of using. The rubber start peeling of on the surface. Dunno why??
