Huh? So that leaves AB Glenmarie to be the sole "genuine" paintwork representative in Peninsula M'sia? Or maybe they insource, meaning the outsource sifu resides within the AB Glenmarie workshop building??? Possible right? LOL :) So if this holds true, then technically, there is no authorised BMW dealer that does their own body and paintwork.... ....

How would an outsource sifu working within the AB Glenmarie workshop building, or an AB Glenmarie mechanic with a spraygun, be better than an outsource sifu working in his own workshop for himself? Think about it... :1:

I have used Cat Weng Seng (just off Jln Chan Sow Lin) a couple of times. AB Segambut sends their cars there, and it was recommended to me by a SA at AB Glenmarie. Their prices are not the cheapest, but the workmanship is good.

At SC workshop, if cut corner, it doesn't benefit painter's own poket simply because he's salaried. He get same pay despite using new panel or knocked back panel, use ori parts or OEM parts. He'll obviously pick the easy way and that all change new and ori.

At own workshop, every piece of panel that can knock back or reused/recycle, but can claim new from insurance, is money to the workshop owner's pocket.

See the difference?!

I thought we were talking about painting touchups and towing eye covers? Now replacing damaged panels and insurance claims ka? In cases like those, if I were to respray my whole car, I'd use a top shop like CK's Weng Seng. Long waiting list, pricey...and they don't do touchups.

I guess for some of us, our tolerance for paint workmanship for our UDM is very critical, hence, the pettyness we profess. As for those who are more "open" as in can live with any paintjob, then so be it. Because, at the end of the day, it is our UDM and we see it everyday. One may see the whole car as acceptable to the eye/no major qualms, but to the other, he/she may see it as an imperfection which becomes an eyesore over time and hence, irritates the wits out of us. For me, a small scratch or if the colour don't match, even for the tow cap, it irks me big time and I have to get that sorted asap, else, I cannot sleep..... :)

As much as I hate it, but I tend to think this is true especially with chinaman business operators, unfortunately. Integrity is somewhat lacking when it comes to maximize profits or making a bigger margin when the opportunity presents itself. I hope we are not like that and that we incalcate good values in our children and our staff at the workplace....

So Tian Siang, one of the 3 BMW authorised SC for bodywork and paintwork, outsources. And I know the Ingress 'official' paintshop is in Kepong...

To be fair to them, last I checked, they said they were going to set up a painting facility at their premises. Not sure whether this is in operation already or not. Will ask the Director next opportunity I get.

I read in the BMW magazine. Look like Ingress has a paintwotk shop located in Kepong if I am not mistaken.

Et..if not mistaken, Ingress do not own the paintshop co. probably their outsource partner. however if u do bring it in to ingress, u will be assured of the quality work. ingress would hv mark up their portion, hence on the higher pricing.

Just came back from Tian Siang CNY event. Paintshop is now operating, located next to the showroom and SC.

Ingress has a bodyshop in Kepong, their own, with state of the art tools for aluminum panel correction and color matching technique that gives u closes color match technology can offer.

Their Mutiara Damansara workshop not enough space, so had to open their bodyshop elsewhere. The latest BMW magazine which they just mailed me, features Jeff Koons Art Car and new X3, has a coverage on this.

Also another piece of interesting news in the magazine I must share, the American police car will use BMW diesel engine soon, they just ordered more than 200,000 BMW diesel engine from BMW.. for fuel economy to cut operating cost and more importantly the small carbon footprint for environmental reason.

Don't waste your time getting the trivia game. The questions are meant for kids 6 years old and below, eg, "How many states are there in Malaysia?"
