Tik-Tik Noise from Engine

Dear friendsMy UDM E46 recently having this noise from the engine ( TIK TIK TIK ) took it for dignostic this morning and the mech told me the noise is coming from tapet and need to change ....the price is 24 x RM 80, anyone have faced this problem before......is the price ok? pls advice me....thanks

My car sound like cricket sound when sudden acceleration. Last time was gone away already but now on and off. Why is this happen? and can I treat it with this hydraulic lifter. Thanks in advance

Used the LM Hydraulic Lifter additive. With the bonnet opened, from what i observe and hear, the ticking sound, which was initially a bit on a high pitch, is still there, but now its much softer and a bit muted. Giving it some time till it holds on its own i guess.

Once the hydraulic lifter is worn out, there is nothing much can be done. The additive only help to soften the sound but it will
NOT repair the worn out parts. Sooner or later you will need to replace the tappet.

The additive should have been added before the tappet worn out. Having a regular oil change will reduce
the wear and tear.

Yes, i do agree with Jarance. It does not repair the tappets, only soften the sound. Oh well i can live with that.

not only tappet ..it could even be from the uneven cam lobes too ...

Quick update to all.. I just bought the LM hydraulic lifter additive as per bro mikeraj04 used on his car.. After the added the additive, i found that the engine tik tik sound is more quite than before.. Thank u bro for ur suggestion.. Thumbs UP !
