Thanks for the inputs bros, Just got back from my friend's workshop. Diagnosed, Air Mass sensor faulty. Can this really happen? or should i be paying more attention on the wheel speed sensor?
wingzee, yes, my car is equipped with dsc.
Im sorry, i might be a lil bit silly asking this question, is the scanner diagnose really that accurate? what if it is the wheel speed sensor faulty instead of the air mass sensor? however, i am experiencing a bit of e rough idling at times. .
The diagnostic is as accurate as the type of tool that is used. Pls advise what type of scanner did your mechanic used?
Normally, if you are not sure of the error, you clear all the error!!!! if there are faulty sensors, the diagnostic tool will capture this.
If there are no error, then it is good. You just drive around and wait for the next light come ON. When it does, plug in the diagnostic tool and scan.
I use INPA coz it will tell you exactly at what mileage, speed and rpm when it happen.
The 3 little lights came on in my car and it took me about 2 months before I nailed it.
changed 2 air hoses, DISA and finally the ICV to resolve the problem. When change ICV and DISA, you need
to perform the adaptation or else the alarm will come back. Another way to adapt is to go for hard drive.
Note:
If the EML, DSC and Brake light all come on, concentrate on the DME/ECU module
If DSC and Brake Light comes on, concentrate on the ABS and DSC module.
If you have already spend 4K for the workshop repair, might as well spend RM180 to buy your own diagnostic tool.
You will be surprise that you can save a lot of money DIY when you know what wrong with your ride.
