hye all the sifuu,,

i got 1 prob lah now,,my temp raising when car is stop,,its happen only when 1st cold start then jalan abit temp go back to normal.. when u stop then temp raise back....water level is good, i not sure whether it is thermostat or fan clucth prob...anybody have experiance this kind of prob,,,helppppp..heheehe :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:

e39 m54 engine

e39 only using clutch fan but got ppl changed to electric fan. If your car is using clutch fan, then temp raise is not clutch fan issue. Even clutch fan having problem your car still not temp raise due to air cond fan will engage to replace clutch fan function. Very high chances your thermostat is warn.

Bro, change your fan clutch, I remember not doing that when it was in my hand and my friends hand

1. Do a proper bleeding of your entire cooling system. You'd be surprise the amount of trapped air if you haven't done so before. Trapped air heats faster than water thus gives you a falls reading of the temp gauge.

2. Do a check on your fan clutch when engine cold & hot. If you can stop the fan clutch when COLD with a newspaper and if you feel hot air gushing out of the fan clutch when HOT then your fan clutch is in good working condition.

hiiii allll,,prob solve!!!! hahahaha its a bleeding prob.i do like a bimmerholic says,,bleed the system, now my cooling system is good lah no more tempt raise..hehehehhe
but......... i jus want to ask lah my expansion tank dosent have water level sensor wire hardness..it that normal for UK spec

Bro.....if u hv the chance, u shld buy bro bimmerholic teh tarik or any beverage of choice....he saved some moolah of urs.... hehehe

yess bro..u are rite...bro water expansion tank dosent have wiring hardness? for low level water alram....
im not sure whether this is normal for uk spec :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:

mine UK import...osso don't have the low coolant level warning.....no sensor at the expansion tank....no wire harness.....nada....

All expansion tanks have coolant level sensor at the bottom of it...well as far as the ones i've seen thus far. If yours has HIGH OBD, then it'll alarm you with a GONG and by showing "check coolant level". If it's LOW OBD i'm not sure if it's able to alarm you.

My expansion tank is on the LH side of the radiator as opposed to yours and nope....no coolant level sensor.Though I wish mine is equipped with it....
