I always switch off the air cond before I off the car so that when I restart it, there will be no additional load on the battery. Does any of you practise the same thing or is it unnecessary?

U punya suka larrrrrrrr....

But for me I just clap my hand the aircond will switch off itself and then clap again the next time & it will switch on again by itself :)

me too,off air cond stop engine.after engine warm up on air cond:D

The dealer I bought my car from told me I am wasting time to on off the air cond, saying the battery is powerful enough. Well, lets just say I'm from the old school. If I can take the load off my battery to prolong its life (though just a tiny bit), I will do it.

My air-cond doesn't feel very cold when I'm stuck at a traffic jam. No problem at all when I am on the move. My mech told me could be low gas pressure or possibly a going to be faulty air-cond pump :)

Grand.. you just bought this car.. be sensible, go to a few shops and see what's wrong with it..no harm. if not the mechanic will change this that.. at your cost.

regards.

Used to practise this on my Proton. But someone told me that it's only necessary on old cars. new cars will cut off the air-cond when starting

Looks like this topic has been quite extensively discussed in the 3 series forum as well. Quite an interesting thread.
