Hi Guys,I have a E63 and it is a 630i M Sports version, It is time to change the stock suspension and springs.Any recommendation on brands? Noticed many of you have suggested Bilstein on this forum for other BMW models.I have read about H&R and would like to hear for you, who have used these brands on the E63.Thanks

A common combination for BMWs is H&R Springs with Bilstein Shocks. This combo would be less than a coilover kit. If you are planning to go for a complete suspension package with anti-roll bars as well, than I would suggest H&R. Since they offer coilovers and anti-roll bars which would've been designed to work together.

When it comes to Coilover comparison, I honestly think it becomes a very personal opinion. I've tested both H&R and Bilstein, and both are huge improvements over stock, but they were on 2 different BMW models, so can't really compare against each other. I don't think anyone actually has put these kits onto the same car, and did a proper side-by-side comparison.

The general feeling you get from everyone's feedback is that bilstein's are recommended if you track the car, and H&R recommended if you drive on the street. But then again, track-dedicated BMW M3s (LIke the American Le Mans entry) are fitted with H&Rs. :S

Agree with anak sarawak... Speak to richard.. Titan!

For those still dun understand custom suspension... Go catch up!

Guys , i have few question on this shock set up ... i will start with what i experience ;

1)Stock - does the 630 and 645 have the same set up when it comes from the factory ?
2) Mine is 645 and it quite bumpy , anything more than 120 is very bumpy , further above 160 the car bounce of at uneven road .

I am not sure what set up is that as i have not inspect it in detail , however i see its kitted with eibac .

Plan : If its found to be stock shock fitted with eibac , i wana change change it to bilstein 8 + H&R .

Need some input guys. TQ in advance, cheers

B8 + H&R is always a good setup but since your complaining about bumpy means you don’t like it too stiff then I would suggest you to go for B8 + Eibach ..

Hi bro .. tq for the input .

I will first investigate what is fitted first before deciding what to fix . But i m ok with bumpy , just the airlift that i get when i hit uneven patches worries me . TQ bro

my preference is for the B12 combo = B8 + eibach for daily driving.

Yeah bro , i m getting a lot of suggestion on B8 + eibach , infact i was thinking of it . TQVM bro . But first i need to test sit / drive on those fitted with B8 + eibach .

B6 is comfort biased bro. B8 a bit sportier n sharper, if u layan corners.
Tqvm bro. With wife most of the time in the car cannot layan corners lah....hahaha!

Will give B6 a try, since you say this will be more comfortable. Bavaria Auto quoted $675 for rear B6. Any other shop for better price? Tqvm!

You can try Autofuture Design in Damansara Uptown. they are the official distributor for Bilstein. Its shop is at the same row as Village Park Nasi Lemak.
