sorry for hijack,

im on Spax springs and stock shocks for more than 4 years now.. ride is still comfy but stock shocks are little soft on wave'y/bumpy roads.. Planning to change to B6 or B8.. what are the price range for these 2 sets?

thanks...

Hi Sach, based on my enquiries; it's about RM2.5k. They are both the same price. However, the recommended springs with the B8 are the lowered type, either HnR or Eibach. Those cost a further 1k or so. Again these are guesses.

which bilstein shocks were you on? isn't h&r stiffer than eibach?

I had the same line of thinking before. I went through 2 sets of bilstein/eibach before i finally tried bilstein/hnr. Conclusion? Will stick w this from now on; I regretted not trying earlier.

are you on bilstein b6 or b8?

Normally with B6 you will stay with your stock springs. Since he is on the HnR (which lowers the car by 30mm) It should be the B8.

Not sure about B6 but B8 is roughly about RM2.4k-ish. That was the price in March this year though so it could have gone up a little by now.

H&R Sports Springs should set you back another RM1.2k-ish.

That's right.

It hits the sweet spot of price/performance/handling/comfort for me.

I'm using a B8 with eibach. Changed in 2002. My front is still B8. However in March 2007 i was speeding and I hit a Ramp, the car took off and when it landed my back absorbers broke off. I now use Boge absorbers and have changed it 3 times already. Most shops do not want to change just the back.

Anyway, with the Boge absorbers, it is more comfortable for the back passengers, the B8 was too stiff.

Another thing about lowering the car is that you scrape the undercarraige all the time. With our high speed breakers that we have. I remember Last month my car was balancing off the hump in JJ Klang I could not go front or back, had to get the security guard to help pust the back down as i took some of the ramp with me. The noise was heart breaking. Thankfully they have repaired the hump. So the best bet is not to lower your car. Looks good, but has it's consequences

All,

Thinking of upgrading my suspension. My Bilstein Black is now 4 years old and done 65k km....still life in it but I'm a bit itchy.

Decided not to lower the car...too many flash floods in Penang lately.

What do you guys think of Bilstein B6(Yellow) with original springs....care to share your experiences. Tq

B6 was quoted at RM2.8k to me.......anywhere cheaper?
