Hail to all bimmer tailo..I'm using e30 320 & already install new front suspension using bilstein black small shaft with my old sport spring eibach...the problem is the gap between tire to fender arch not balance right & left after completed install. I mean for right side the gap only 1 finger & the left side gap 2 finger.. Dunno it come from installation, absober, spring, top mount, dust cover or anything??? Any idea the root cause?? :hmmmm:

bro, read somewhere in the forum.....almost all BMWs were like that......esp. earlier models......

As discussed before, it is normal.

Is it normal? Wouldn't it compromise handling and/or safety negatively?

Could be the springs - new ones take time to set, but since you're reusing old ones, did you mark to make sure you put them back the same orientation?

Try balance it using rubber spring damper. Put it on 1 side only. It will increase the height of your car.

Just my 3 cents.

Left side higher by a bit, so that when the driver sits in the car, his/her weight will balance the ride height out. That's for LHD, for RHD, oh well. :D lol.

Can wrongly orientation effect the gap??

Thanks for ur suggestion, already used it before I change absorber. Not bring any improvement.. I think rubber damper not effect to lowed/sport spring...

It is a possibility. Unfortunately I don't have a good suggestion on how to rectify it.
