Hi,Just had my front shock absorber replaced for my E90 320 yesterday.it a stock BOGE/sachs which should equivalent to OEM shocks. Found out after that the gap between the tyre and fender are now increased. My car is non M sport but before change of absorber, the is gap is about 2 finger but now has grown to 4 finger... Sakit mata. Anyone here got the same experience and i have read somewhere that it should settle within few days. My understanding is that the car will sit on the spring and height is not determined by the shock absorber. Correct me if wrong. Now really considering an eibach pro-kit or H&R to replace the stock one.

Make sure the absorber are correctly installed. It should be higher than your previous absorber since the dampen is spoil redy.
I just changed my E90 back to Bilstein B4 & ACS spring. Height is just nice. Stock standard should be quite high

Thanks IM. Will consider a ACS spring as well.

Absorber weaken through time.. wear and tear ma. just like when replace front tyres with new ones u suddenly felt steering very light.

Yes. car weight is mainly supported by spring but a set of good condition absorber has some rebound force. hence u felt car appear higher after replace absorber.

Absorber need to run in.. it will settle a bit after that but u can't match it with worn absorber.. unless it worn too.

Standard e90 ride height is like what tIANcI mentioned.. 3 to 4 fingers wheel fender gap in front.

Problem with lowered suspension is it suffered fron the same wear and tear too. through time, the car sits lower and lower due weakening absorber until u keep damaging your front bumper and can't clear speed bimps. there are reasons why BMW design our cars with certain ride height besides looking good, practicality needs to be considered too.

Bear in mind that ur rear shocks also worn liao.. the sagging rear amplify the front lift effect.

Best go coil over height adjustable shocks.. :4:

Hi Firz. Wanna check how much was those Boge shock absorbers? I am looking to replace mine too and I checked with Eng Soon Singapore that it cost Sgd150 for one front corner. They offered b8 blistein for 250 for one front corner.

Please let me know where did u changed yours too. Thanks!

Hi hikaru,

I did mine at Stuttgart Motorsport, Taman Mayang PJ. BOGE will cost around RM 440/piece just for the absorber itself. That is excluded of damper, tube cover and mounting + workmanship . It's half day job. Total completed job cost around RM 1.3k.

Thanks for the info. That means it would be cheaper to buy from Singapore and install it in Malaysia since I go down there often. Think I can push the whole lots price down to RM1k to change the front absorber.
