Suggestions on Rear Absorbers for E39

Bro's, My E39's rear abs have started making some sounds when fully loaded, so I'm planning to change my rear absorbers. I've changed my fronts abt 6 months back to oem bilstein's, should i stick back with bilstein's? I've heard word that Sach's are also comparable?

confirm sound due to abs? kalau sudah kluar minyak then tukar la. if sure need to change, i dont think Bilstein or Sachs makes much of a difference between the two as long as they are of the same category...normal or sport. just changed mine 6 mths ago. the original was sachs..changed all 4 (actually my rear ones were still ok, but sudah gatal maa..heh heh) to another sachs. very good absorbers. +/- RM500 incl of dust covers and foam damper each. rear only RM30 cheaper. Bilstein also good. others can vouch for that. make sure that, if the front is normal type..the rear is of normal type also. One more thing, changing the rear is a hassle...rear seats, speaker board, speakers, c-pillar panel etc all got to take out...expect half a day and some plastic clips to be broken...argh!!!

Most E39s are running on factory fitted Sach from day one. Blistein's are good. Go for "black" if you are for comfort (about RM 400 per pc for front and RM 350 for rear, without labour charges) Yes, changing the rear absorbers are time consuming. Azan23uk is correct, it's "sakit hati" too to see rear seats removed, rear parcel shelf.....etc. Better go for a long lunch instead!
