Due to I can stand looking at Haywire and the rest of E39 with bigger wheel, I've decided to change my stock standard 16 inch E39 525 wheel to 18 inch. More for the look I guess. What will be a reasonable setup without sacrificing too much ringgit and be able to retain some level of comfort and handling. I guess I must change to sport lowered coil spring as well.

thanks in advance.

what setup are you running on currently? with your current setup and after swapping to 18s is it that harsh the ride?

i just changed all 4 shock to Boge from BA

the ride is quite comfort. but the draw back is the ride is high.

i have also changed from the stock 16s to M sport 17s now

the ride is much better than my ex z3 and 328 :p

no regrets of using stock shocks.

i'm currently on standard Boge with 16 inch rim. My Boge start to sway to much when doing fast cornering. High time to change.

Heng1028, i'm sure with stock coil spring your car will look rather high. Not sporty enough shall I say. I believe when we use lower coil spring, the damper has to work harder so it require a firmer damper. Am I right?

After reading about Bilstein prematurely fail to function accordingly, i also wonder why not just try this cheapo brand couple with better coil spring. Who knows it can last longer and reasonable result or perhaps the same. Some calculation below

Front RM178 x 2 = RM356
Rear RM152 x 2 = RM304

Total = RM660
Installation RM160 (i think so)

Total investment = RM820

But then this is not sport setup. Not sure whether they have equivalent to B8. After 6 months not satisfied, sell timbang kati at scrap shop.

Definitely not equal to B8. Price is also much different. Sometime oso got defect in any product. As long u got it from authorised dealer & gor warranty should be peace of mind. I experience once & got full refund but hv to pay for another new one & wait for couple of months to send to germany

After so much of reading and consuming various inputs from forumners (thanks guys...a living knowledge database), I've decided to 'TITANed' my e39. Was at their workshop in Pandan Mewah since morning and ready almost 7pm. Too early to comment but I just would like to share some early finding :

1. Look

The ride is rather high to me. Does not not look as nice with my 18" AC Type III Racing. Richard says let it settle down first and come back in 2 weeks times to get the right setting for height and pressure (soft or hard).

What will be a nice height? 2 fingers front and back? Will it rub the fender?

2. Handling

I can't comment much as i need to do "on wheel balancing" for my rim. Currently wobbling at around 80kmph. But some initial testing, cornering is superb (no more floating). braking more firm. steering response is good and take off is positive. Going over hump (speed breaker) is so smooth and no bouncing.

Note :

1. Negative side is little firm on slow speed. Not smooth. I guess require some tuning later or perhaps my Eagle F1 is not as good as my former Continental with 16 inch stock standard rim (I'm impressed with Conti brand)

2. Titan setup use back original coil spring

3. You get 2 years warranty.

Will update later after more testing and tuning.
