Stubborn water stain

Had tricky moments getting cleaning the water marks on a white bonnet after coming back from overseas trip (away for 11 days)

Prior this water marks, I'm using Optimum spray wax to protect it.

Some stubborn watermarks still visible after using Power Clean 1:4 ratio..

Isn't wax supposed to minimize these stubborn stains while being away only for short period of time?

I used a full concentrated 100% Power Clean to get rid of the stubborn water marks. Firstly I spray it on the water mark and let it soak for a couple of minutes before I wiped it out.

Water spots may form on painted surfaces when hard tap water is used to rinse off after washing and is then left to dry off naturally. The spots themselves comprise calcium carbonate, or limescale as it is more commonly known, and other evaporative salts. If such spots are left on painted surfaces for any significant length of time, they can harden to the point where they become very difficult to remove, even by machine. In extreme cases, such deposits can attack underlying surfaces, causing etching. Etching refers to chemical erosion of the uppermost layer of paint (more often than not a clearcoat), and is also caused by the corrosive effects of strong organic acids in bird droppings and bug remains. Such contaminants should always be removed as quickly as possible in order to lower the risk of etching occurring.

Truly wax is suppose to protect your paint under that circumstances but again it really depends on the place you park your car. Hope that the water spots lays on the wax layer. Fastest way to try if it had etched is to clay the water spots are and see if that is possibly be removed. If the claying process doesnt help, then try with hand polishing.
