Sprint Booster for 1-Series

A friend's workshop in Taman Midah quoted me RM1,100 for this Sprint Booster. While the booster does not up any HP, it improves the car's responsiveness. Has anyone installed one? "The Sprint Booster aims to overcome throttle response delay by providing crisp, on-tap acceleration for whenever the driver demands it. At low revs, the engine responds at approximately half the time in comparison to before. The delay time whilst accelerating in 3rd and 4th gear and the engine in the mid-range, is almost zero; big differences in the higher rev range."Wanna know how true the claims are, and is it worth the 1,100 quids?! Btw, this chip is hot-swappable between 1'er and 3'er.

my fren told me the RM700-800 ones are "pirated" versions. there might be prob like throttle inaccuracies sending the 1er straight to the wall
not sure how true that claim is though. RM1100 ones are the real deal, he said.

Many installed it but cabut later because too jerky, missy complain and what not. So can pick up at a bargain of perhaps RM500 for a used unit.

Bear in mind that this thingy WON'T increase horsepower or torque on the dyno map. What it does is just amplifying the throttle signal meaning when you pedal 1/4 way down, ECU get 1/2 way down signal, when you pedal 1/2 way down, ECU gets 3/4 way down signal and when u pedal 3/4 way down on the pedal, ECU get full throttle signal. That's about all it does.

Comparing 2 cars, one with Sprint Booster, one stock standard, both pedal to the metal on the straight, no difference in speed and pick up at the end of the line because full throttle all the way ma, so Sprint Booster amplification of throttle will have no effect. And all this cost you RM1k. Not worth my money..

tks bro! guess will put up with the throttle lag and save the money for ecu remap. heard throttle control can be tinkered during ecu remapping, giving the same effect like sprint-booster, true?

But I m considering of fitting velocity booster as not only it has 4 different set-up by click of a button but also u can decide to switch it off and not using it. U use it when ur adrenalin rush can't be contained no more he he

it helps somehow, but rm1100 simply too high a price to pay for.

bro, unless ur driving a 6-potter/M3/M6, i think the normal SB wud do the job la. once ur used to the sensitivity, it makes no difference in terms of power output. since mine's a 120i, there's not much of a power range to fit in the 4 maps in VB, so 1 mode is enough
i can set my right foot to 6 modes even, LOL!

bro, unless ur driving a 6-potter/M3/M6, i think the normal SB wud do the job la. once ur used to the sensitivity, it makes no difference in terms of power output. since mine's a 120i, there's not much of a power range to fit in the 4 maps in VB, so 1 mode is enough

Phew if I m driving the Ms I won't even consider whatever boosters but since i owe 4 potter it really helps to boost the sluggishness at RM1k price is boleh la
remap is a no no to me.. Too much trouble

no trouble mah bro, for a few hundred more quids than SB, a remap can add real juice to ur bimmer. Up torque + ponies, better FC. unless urs is stil under warranty by BM then maybe trouble lor.

bro, mine's quartz blue but in d wee hours of morning it might look like silver. u stay in kajang? i do see PEP 999 quite often. there was once i got quite near, and saw quite a young chap driving. hehe, might be wrong.
