Should I buy Z4 or 350Z?

It has to be a Z4.

Before getting my 07/08 Z4 3.0SI Coupe just last month, I have tried the likes of MB SLK, VW EOS, Mazda MX5, Lotus Europa/Elise, Volvo C70, Audi TT and unfortunately, could not find a local 2nd hand Porsche that was cheap enough. I finally decided on the Z4 Coupe as I really did not enjoy the top down effect and honestly, there are limited occasions that you can drive it top down in our clime. This is my personal opinion. Unless you like the wind in you hair thingy and have experienced it, then the 350Z roadster looks impressive but if you place it with a more compact and cuter Z4 roadster, Z4 will always win. The reason why I did not even try the 350Z was because I found it a little bulky. Look like R/Tax, performance,... may be secondary to you, so appearance-wise, I guess there is only one choice. My thoughts.

No biggie. If getting Z4, you should catch the Discovery Channel Super Factories in making of BMW Z4. Astro showing recently, but downloaded from internet before it. A must see for any Z4 owner or thinking of owning one. At least than you know, every single Z4 in the world comes from Spartanburg......USA.

P.S. While at it, check out National Geographic about the design and engineering of 6 Series. Even 3 grooves on the tail light suppose to improve aerodynamic and fuel efficiency. Geeky if not cool stuff.

Saw part of the Z4 programme on ASsTRO.. It was revealed that the famous blue & white propeller was not to symbolise its air craft engine heritage. But to symbolise its bavarian origin. The Blue and White is taken from the Bavarian flag.

You're right about the 350Z being proportionately bulky for a roadster. That's a negative. But one thing that has really bothered me about the Z4 was the somewhat awkward proportions between front and rear....that small butt compared to the "big smiley face" front looks a little weird. The 350Z roadster long curved butt is much sexier....like a nice curvaceous butt in a G-String.....but the Z4 front is much nicer. Its like choosing between a petite chick with great boobs and inwardly small butt (Z4), vs. a large chick with nice butt and average boobs (350Z roadster).

Maybe I can get half cut Z4 and 350Z and put the front and rears together kereta potong style.

Given your height, ergo of the car may be the determining factor (or perhaps only the Z4 seat suits your butt more), or the hand brake when engaged is in an blocking position, etc etc.

I bumped into a red Z4 and all-souped-up 350Z in the past 2 days. IMO, Z4 exudes more class while 350Z looks more like a 'Transformer' driving machine to me.

I have test driven the 350Z coupe. Stiff ride, but love the handling and power. Never driven the Z4.
I'm not sure how the ergonomics fit. I'm 6 ft tall with a butt that will make most men gay. My g/f is 5ft2", with a butt that will make most women gay.

I thought the big smiley face front is what sells the ZZZ.. Its unique, I first noticed it too and fell in love with it now.

If you still cannot decide NOW, chances are you will buy the WRONG car!!!

Personally, roadster is all about experience and elegance, it's not about power and being fierce looking. Thus, if I am gonna buy a roadster again, I will still go for Z4 (if I still can't afford the bloody expensive 987 boxster S)

If I get a Z4, one of the first things I would do would be to upgrade the front+rear lights to the newer clear/facelift type.
Does anyone here know how much they would cost and where I could get those?

Bro, on my opinion the both car also dun buy coz conver. car is realy hard to take care, first thing is when u speeding must hv a bit "angin" sound, second is in Malaysia is very hard to open coz u kne the weather la...stil hv many many not good reason to choise conver. car. If u like performance car u better choise 350Z(not conver.) coz Z4 2.5 the speeding not so good, 350Z only change a bit aftermarket thing also can get 300hp++ min. can speeding 280km above, but the Z4 is Europe car n also very smart la.....but u said sport car must choise 350Z coz the look like porcshe n also like sport car, maybe the name is "nissan" not nice la....if u wan to look 350Z i can contact my fren to give the car to u for test drive, when u test drive the 350Z aledi, u must dun wan to choise Z4...sure wan......ok la bro all is my opinion only, anyway if u interest pls pm me. There are a few things I've always wanted to get in my life.....get a heated toilet bowl, get a tattoo, get a double-jointed gymnast girlfriend, get circumsized, get my hair long, get a monkey, get guitar lessons, get a 3some, get allagappa's secret curry powder recipe, get my ass waxed........... AND get a sports convertible.......don't care even if i'm driving through the lalat infested roads of Sungai Lembu on a steamy hot Malaysian afternoon........must have convertible. Plus it will be my second car. My daily slave car is my trusty Wira.

So I've definietly set my mind to buy a "convertible" sometime next montha nd nothing else.........right after I get my ass waxed. I recently (unwillingly) discovered at the Pearl View hotel spa that the absolute ugliest sight in the whole world is the rear view of a naked, semi-hairy man bent forward.

By the way, Sungai Lembu is is kaw. parlimen Permatang Pauh.....about 5 minutes from where I live.
