i'm searching for new/used engine for my e30....currently using rb20....and awfully uncomfortable with the it...hope someone far more knowledgeable than me could give me some help....which engine is suitable, where do i get reasonable price, installation and fair bargain.....i'm currently at staying at shah alam.....hope someone could lay me a hand....:)

Been discussed many times previously. Imho M50/M54B25 is good value for money, but im not sure whats the total cost for the transplant. Hope someone can shed some info.

yup....m20b25 is it.....no need m50 osso .....if you want straight forward no fuss and least of complications but got enuff grunt....stay with m20.(if yr was originally m20 la.if originally m40 then i i donno ....

go for M20...i've owned E30 RB20 for 6 years..sold the car and bought another E30 323i..M20 is robust engine..no headache...in term of power, not bad as E30 body is lightweight..so far can keep up with more powerfull and newer car...for fuel consumption, quite considerable as i manage RM10 = 5 liters ron95 for 40km daily driving.. :) i'm very satisfied with M20..maybe for future, upgrade to 2.7!

since youre running a japanese heart , hence you need to look out for a complete half-cut with all the wiring looms in order to proceed with the works ..before this what's your budget on mind ...

i'm looking around 5k below....hope this range is acceptable...:)...but if this is too low,..then i'd had too wait for about another 2 month laaaa to make it 8k....hehehehhe....no rush here..coz i'm still in surveying mode.....but,receiving replies from members like johnj and iceman 68 scares me a bit,,,heheehehhe....(because i'm still setahun jagung).....

yes.....but if can, except the bodypart laaa....bodypart last skali baru buat balik....bushing maybe january or february i'll try to settle....new engine with old bushing would be an uncomfortable ride...currently my brother installed FG bumpers and he actually mounted an intercooler infront of it.......eemmmm,..for me,the intercooler had vanish the aesthetic value of the e30 looks completely.....right now,i've just drive and use it as daily car...but still the uncomfortable feeling is there because it's not me that does the conversion...from all bushings to engine mountings and looking from the engine bay condition,it's not pretty good looking...:(

bro...don't discount the modifications done to the engine bay to accept the rb.this has to be re-done.chk for rust.

if you are able to get an m20b25 half cut then the de-mod will be a breeze and pretty straight fwd, also get a sifu mech to do this.
aye wud suggest optimum @ damansara kayu ara....cari sama ah foo.

You sold it and buy another??.....hehehhehehe....hope my passion for e30 will last till i'm somewhat of 60 something..hehhehehe.../..i thought that e30 is built a bit heavy...but since you said that e30 is lightweight....than it must be the rb that's weighing a lot.....hehheheeehehehhe.....i'll try to search for moots suggestion-m20b25 and M50/M54B25 like Mdirectspares says...

thanks alot M's Enthusiasts!////:)

Yes....the mounting and rusts are among my worries here...does ah foo also can do lantai works?if can....i thought of doing some metal works on it also....not major works,but...it's e30...and of course the got rusty time to time right?...hehhehehehe....i'll survey it.....

anyway.thanks a lot Moots....:)

sold the RB's and bought 323i...yes, RB20 heavy...u can feel it (understeer like hell) when you are in fast entering corner...

hafize30 - don't bother looking for a new engine. Think about the cost you need to incur and the headache you need to go through to bring back the car to its original E30 condition and layout. I have a whole car for you...haha.... mine is a 1984 coupe 320i with Mtech1 bodykit, M20B25 engine and eibach suspension. Endorsed by JPJ. Interior is still original though, but in a neat and clean condition. Never been exposed to rain and shine when not driven. Floor board changed and rust proofing done. A fine example but not as immaculate as Mizhan's car.

Call me 019-351 3875.

MRA ...sorry i think the thread starter is asking about replacement of engines ...hence your post is indeed tempting and seems like you want to sell your immaculate ride and do post your ride for sale in the car for sale section and i hope you'll be able to find some genuine buyer out there ...

hope you can help this thread starter off line and hope to see your car posted up for sale sir .. TQ

heheheheh....okay bro...but i'm thinking about restoring way from scratch is better...i didn't mean to state that my pocket is full of money...but,for me..from the time i got the e30 key from my brother..i told my self..this is it...this is the ride...there's some of my friends who toys with levin...sr..they're all still young..but because of the maintenance cost, they negatively said that having a bmw will cost them much...but i think, every car is the same..just know how to pelihara...hehehhee...so,i'm thinking adding pieces by pieces will make me one with the car itself...same like my friends...they bought the toyota and nissan with bargain price..then,they built it little by little....later,they've become one with the car...so,i want to the first among my friends to own a complete, wonderful and comfortable e30..hehehehehe...

but maybe you could send me some pictures...surely yours is not ordinary ride..

thanks bro////:)
